We are looking for a 3d cad viewer to open up, .prt(UG), .step, .x_t. Hopefully something that is inexpensive for our quoting department to view customer models. Just wondering what it is that you all are using.
Steve,
Memory buffering is set to 50%. The toolpath is a 5 axis flow (doing a true 5 axis path), I am trying to change the cut control distance from .005 to .00035 to obtain a better finish. The toolpath size with the .005 setting is reported as 7187.6K.
I have no experience with any other mill/turn centers other than Mazak. I love them to death, I got so used to programming them when I had to program a 3+2 it told me "too many axis commanded" loved it. Any how I would go with the Integrex hands down.
I have had that happen to me as well. I think I have discovered (at least for me) what the problem was. We also run UG, if I have UG open and then open MasterCAM all is well. However if MasterCAM is open and UG is opened after MCAM all heck seemed to break loose ie..... Toolpaths moving completely of the part, corrupted tool paths, ops changing sequence, just all kinds of horrible stuff.
We have a 300 and a 200, both with KM63 holders. I like the holders repeatability, however, with only Kennametal and Valinite (I think still VM63) making these holders delivery/selection of holders can be an issue. I have not taken any (what I would consider) heavy cuts, so I have not noticed a rigidity problem. I have seen all the sweet options that are available with the capto system, kind of wish I was more involved with the purchase of the machine.
Travis,
Good luck. I was faced with a similar situation about 2 years ago, moved 600 miles away from home. The first couple of weeks in a new town / company were a bit odd, but........ I am truly glad that I took the chance.
Good luck again.
Welcome to the forum, took the lathe, c-axis class, Martin Roderick's files and then just lots and lots of "hmmm whats this switch do" I guess if you know what you want the output to be than it is just up to you to make the software do "as it is told
John??????
I know that it can, not a post expert by any means, but a search for that "M28" would be where I would start....
I think that one if the post guru's will prove way more helpful, I just hope that I am remotely close.......
We use NX2 and NX3, Long story short, UG is an excellent 3-D modeling software with a good CAM package. Some of the menu options in the software are buried IE, cutter comp, feedrates. I have also found that customizing the post processor to do things (common for MC) can be a bit difficult, and UG support offered little or no help. I like UG’s CAM package don’t get me wrong, but when I need to program the Integrex here I would not even (in my wildest dreams) think of using anything other than MasterCam
