  1. I have no problems with crashing at all; I use Facing ,OD turning, grooving and cut-off quite regularly. I am programming for a Mazak Integrex, so I use the lathe paths frequently, I have not notice any issues at all in MR2. Maybe a re-install of MR2 would help????
  2. I would have to agree with John on this one
  3. would be a bit humorous if they made you some 190. inch parts though
  4. I liek this utility, but it is not picking up my lathe tools for some reason... I have both lathe and mill paths in one group.... Any suggestions Thanks in advance........
  5. Techniks has endmill holders with some wired slots in them to take advantage of thru spindle on endmills
  6. I have noticed this too, but it only seems to happen with mill tools. The lathe tools have kept there correct tool numbers... Odd
  7. Yes and there still is no adjustable metric wrench Have a great weekend
  8. I just did a job with a J-Slot in it, I ended up using a 5-axis swarf. Just had to create some curves from the edges. Worked out great, and walls were perpendicular to floor. I also had to switch from 5-axis to 4-axis.
  9. welcome to our little twisted corner of earth
  10. +1 Psycomill I am lazy too, why change (2) when (1) works just fine, also I find that it is more operator friendly.
  11. Are any of you using Moly-Dee on medical components, material is 17-4 S.S.
  12. +1 IntegrexMan Yes, MasterCAM works excellent with the Intergrex, I have been using it now for about a year with our machines. If you need any help feel free to pic my brain as well. Just out of curiosity did you get your post from In-house?
  13. We are currently using a NVIDIA Quadro FX3400 2GB RAM 3.4GB Pentium D XP Pro Service pack 2 1280 X 1024 This combination seems to be working much better with complex 5axis tool paths. Cut verify time on a paticular job from 1hr 45min to 50min.
  14. Pentium D 3.4 processor 2 Gig Ram 256 FX 3400 Video card V9.1 Lathe 1 Mill 3 V5 Solids These are the new boxes that "IS" has purchased to help satisfy our programming needs. I made a trouble call to a friend of ours Martin Roderick, as I am trying to program a complex part for our Inegrex. He provided me with the above allocations and all seems well, again thanks for the speedy replies and support. Seems that now I am only having posting issues, I may have to switch to Version X and try our new post. The 5 axis simulation looks great, but on the machine, I could hand wheel it closer . Seems a trouble call to our nieghbors to the North at In House may be in order.
  15. I got it, had to adjust verious allocations. They are as follows 10000 10000 100 150000 250000 Thanks for the suggestions. Hope this will help any future instances of this. Have a great weekend.
  16. Trying to do some surfacing and getting a tool path allocation too low alarm. All is set as high as MCAM will allow. Any suggestions Thanks
  17. I would contact your vendor, I am sure this would be a quick fix for them.
  18. We use a .5MM Ball endmill on 17-4 PH Stainless Rpm=10000 Feed=2.5 tool life is great. Hope this helps

  20. beej, UG has f'd up menus, the one I personally love most is trying to turn on your cutter comp. Nothing like being 3 layers deep.
  21. Jim, do you have all your switches on? /v5 /x5 /s?? Ran into this same problem with 5-axis and solids. Come to find I did not have the switches on, also they may be different for a local hasp
  22. David, that sounds great, but then along comes a bigger idiot. 1...2...4...3...7 I think you get the point. I work with'em every day. Lord help us all....
  23. Ok if ya all don't mind I would like to add my 2 cents here, so here goes. I wrote my first program in VX this week, and it took a week. I ^%#$in hated it at first, then it started to grow on me, no not like a wart... more like that first blak hair you got when you were a teenager, I fumbled through it, found a parasolid translation bug, that was easly fixed by a phone call to our dealer, and finally got it completed. Then the moment of truth post it..... Had lathe paths with no Z axis moves, I was like what the ..insert your word here.. so I sent the file off to our post builder via email with a description of the problem; I recieved the fix very quickly. FYI not a 3, 4, or 5 axis thing more like 9, Mazak Integrex. Post builder is IN HOUSE SOLUTIONS hats off to them. To make a long story short; I needed a quicky, so I went back to V9.1 and it seemed like I was lost. Lets give the folks at CNC a break.... Microsoft, and Mac have never made a bad program.... ohh wait......... never mind. If the world was perfect we would all be unemployed because things would just appear. Think about this for a moment if you would.... Mistakes are alot like $hit..... it happens. Kudos to CNC Software, and In house Solutions, to all other lets just keep on keepin on.
  24. Today was the first day that I really "dove" into X, I agreed with alot of the post that I have seen that the little red arrow is a pain in the arse, but after reading the posts and learning how to manipulate it worked good. I think X has a real potential to be "GREAT" but when I need to "get it done!!!" I revert to 9.1 Look forward to the XFORMation to "X"....
