  1. Ok I've done some investigating and found some answers but it’s not working for me. The error I’m getting is: Tool's coolant setting are incompatible with this machine. Coolant will not be updated. However this post the proper code. A M88 for through spindle coolant and a m89 to shut it off. If i go into my machine def and turn on the support prev coolant option I don’t get the error anymore however i get just a m8 which doesn’t work. I using mastercam x2,mr2 with generic haas post....any help would be great.. thanks, Seth
  2. Cant you creat a start point Then chain the start point then the pocket geometry. This should allow control of the tools starting pos.

  5. Thanks guys I guess I should have left one side of my chain open when I was trying to use open pocket. It looks like the 2d contour I created. I just thought I could use different pocket strategies and still drop in the z outside of the material. Thanks again....

  7. Ok I'm still not doing something right I use the open pocket method still nothing. Am i missing a setting somwhere. John i'm not to sure what you mean :"chain a point outsidie of the pocket, it should start outside and then move inside AND the respect the boundary on each Z cut." Are you still talking about a pocket tool path. I could through the file up on ftp if someone could look at it.... thanks again.. seth
  8. I thought I had an option under pocket tool path to start on the out side of the pocket. I have a piece of 1018 aprox 3.5 x 21.250 x 5.0 that I need to remove some material from the middle. Basically it’s a slot 18.5 inches wide through the part. I wanted to pocket the slot but plunge on the outside of the part. Am I using the wrong path? I am using x2 mr2 thanks. Seth

Ok I pretty sure I’ve done this before....although I can’t remember. I want to mill a .530 slot aprox 2.0 in length and 1/2 thick. I'm using a .496 end mill. I thought there was a way to 2d contour ramp and put the start point on center of the end of the slot......Bad day today.......
