  1. The sorting and the amount of operations that is created. We do vacuum form tooling that has up to 1500 holes that are the same size at many different depths. Also Pro-E creates tapped holes with the tap drill hole size. FBM Drill will not let me select a tap for that hole or a rollform tap drill to use with a rollform tap.
  2. Not having the ability to combine ops that have the same diameter and different depths is one of the reasons we are not using FBM Drill and still use solid drill. For simple hole drilling with holes at several different depths solid drill works great.
  3. We use solid drill all of the time. Why can't we have solid drill and FBM Drill? Both tool have good points. For thermofoming mold solid drill works great.
  4. YES! We use the points created from solid drill all of the time to create new toolpaths. YES! I would like solid drill back in X3. I think that we lost a good tool when solid drill was removed. FBM drill is a nice tool also and has some good features.
  5. +1 For form tap. Make sure you use the correct drill size for the forming tap.
  6. There was a topic about this and there is a way to get lowercase letters. This is how to get lowercase letters quote: To set the MCX (Box) Font selection to display a combination of uppercase and lowercase letters (exactly as you type them in the Create Letters dialog box), follow these steps: 1. Open Windows Explorer to display the files and folders on your computer. 2. Choose the commonfontsBox folder in your Mastercam directory. 3. Open the Box Lowercase X2.zip file and extract all its files to the commonfontsBox folder. Note: Allow the letters.dat file to be overwritten. 4. Create your letters to see that they display with both uppercase and lowercase letters. ------- To reset the MCX (Box) Font selection to always display uppercase letters, follow these steps: 1. Open Windows Explorer to display the files and folders on your computer. 2. Choose the commonfontsBox folder in your Mastercam directory. 3. Select and delete all the MCX files that begin with “char” (such as char033.MCX, and char034.MCX). 4. Open the Box Uppercase X2.zip file and extract all its files to the commonfontsBox folder. Note: Allow the letters.dat file to be overwritten. 5. Create your letters in a combination of uppercase and lowercase letters to see that they display only as uppercase letters. ------------------------------------------- I'm 99% sure that you should not combine the content in these zip files....but there's still that 1% that someone else might know about. This will be in the X2 MR1 Help with pictures and links to other topics. Hope this helps. Karen Graf Senior Technical Writer CNC Software, Inc.
  7. Try window with 3D not c-plane. This helps when I have problems with machining text.
  8. I could not get it to open in Mastercam X2mr2 using the Proe converter or with Pore wildfire2. Proe asked for an Unigraphics filter.
  9. Type .283 in for density. Mass = weight
  10. Analyze, area/volume, analyze solid properties
  11. Using the stl as is worked on my part. Thanks gcode!
  12. It did not fix my waterfall problem. I did a test on one of our parts that worked in X2. I sent in in to QC for them to look at.
  13. The biggest problem I have with HST is the finish toolpath is reseting the stock from 0 to .050". Has anyone had this problem?
  14. Welcome to the forum N00b. I'd try new drivers I am using a Logitech TrackMan without any problems.
  15. Eric, I had this problem for years. I have not had the problem after I did the latest updaded for the Centurion 6 controler. Call Milltronics they helped me out.
  16. Good luck with the new job and with Pro-E.
  17. The first thing that I do is delete them. I select all, style, and check the dashed lines. I hope we have the option to turn this off as Pete said.
  18. Roger, does the new MultiEdit work with solids. With the old one the solid did not change when the acrs changed.
  19. Some of the guys in the shop were asking about getting dimo of X, but they have Media Center at home. Can X run on Media Center?
  20. I sent a file into QC that was flaky. the toolpath was a 2D contour, but it backploted as a tap cycle. The tool it the operation manager was an an endmill, but it posted and backploted a 10-24 tap. Regenerating the toolpath fixed the problem.
  21. I did not change from waterline toolpath. I copied the previous waterline toolpath and changed the stock to leave from .005 to zero then regenerated it. I had this to happen on 3 separate parts. it always changes the toolpath that is set to zero. Yes I have played the cat & mouse game with the stock to leave. I do not like it. It could be that I did not hit the enter key after I changed the stock value. I think It is strange that I am only having trouble with the toolpaths that I set to the stock to zero.
  22. I am having trouble get the stock to leave values to stick. It is resetting to leave .050 stock after I set it to zero. Another problem is if I change the amount to leave on the wall it changes the stock on the floor to the same value. Does anyone have these problem? How many thinks this is a problem?
