  1. Gunther, What happened to the Icon that allows you to change the Font and the color in the ops manager?
  2. 110 for solids, 1 for wire, 2 for surfaces
  3. In that case you need to go to your chooks folder in and make sure the X+ folder is there. I'm using X+ with no problems so far in X2MR2
  4. Click on Settings, then Customize, Click the Category tab. Select the X+ option at. You then drag and drop the icons you want on the toolbar area. On the toolbars area you should then right click on the newly created toolbar and change the name to X+

    Hello!

Hanbooks Volume I-III on the books page of this forum.
  6. Solidworks is much better in the design side than is inventor in my opinion and we have had some serious issues getting files we could use from Inventor into Mastercam. Alot of parts come in with holes in them, or missing features. We have in the past sent inventor files to Mathdata.com to have them fixed so they could be opened into Solidworks and/or Mastercam.
  7. 10min 53sec. Dell Precision670 Intel Xeon Processor 3.4Ghz 3GB DDR2 sdram 400mhz Quadro FX3450 256MB WindowXP Pro
  8. Thanks, I use this set up sheet all the time.
  9. The throat isn't big enough to accomodate the hollow bar stock but I'm starting with a piece that is long enough to make 4 parts at and am parting them off but I'm doing this in the roughing stage of the operation, before heat treat.
  10. I'm roughing the parts out on the cnc lathe also, they are round when they go out for heat treat. My process right now is when they come back from heat treat I put them on a very loose fitting round fixture and use a cap to bolt them on the fixture. indicate the outside and get them as true as possible, machine the O.D. with no pressure applied to the I.D.. The cap is holding them against a shoulder. The check round until I pull them off of the fixture then I see between .001" & .002" warpage.
  11. I'll be making around a hundred to start and could be an ongoing project.
  12. I have a part that finish size is 3.272" O.D. x 3.114" I.D. x 1.600" long. The part is made from 52100 and is hardened 60 to 65Rc, with about .030" stock left on for finishing. Using a cnc lathe what is the best way to keep these parts round while turning them. The O.D. tolerance is +-.0002 and I.D. is .0015, the finish on the O.D. is .2 Ra max. I'm using a 2 axis cnc Mori Seiki lathe. Thanks
  13. Solids is relatively easy to learn, especially if you are already using surfaces. The Mastercam Handbooks Volume 1 & 2 found on this site is a great help for beginners.
  14. In Solids: Create your thread shape, create a helix at the right pitch for the threads, then use solid sweep.
  15. I use program for a milltronics that had the same problems(I believe it was a centurion 6). I can't remember what setting it was but there was a setting in the parameters that was set wrong. Once I changed the setting I never had another problem with it. Milltronics has a simulutar that can be installed on your desktop that will appear the same as the control on the machine, it runs in dos.
  16. Does anyone know where to buy this steel from? The original spec for this part was for 52100, the DIN EN 10084 - 17Cr3 is a European spec and I'm can't seem to find it anywhere. Thanks,
  17. Metrolysis does look pretty good on the Website. I don't see any prices.
  18. Are you talking directly to Renishaw?
  19. Is anyone using Haas cnc mill with probing package as a cmm machine? If so what kind of software are you using to program the probe with(Mastercam)? My Haas dealer says this can be done with Expert DNC. So far I haven't found anything on Expert DNC.
  20. Try reinstalling the .net2 framework from cd2 then install MCX.
  21. 3 Seats with maintenance 3boxes and books and mousepads
  22. I completely uninstalled Mcx2 and reinstalled off of disk did not solve the problems I was having. Tech support from cnc software suggested running the repair function on the net2 install. this solved the problem.(Problem: I had been working in MCX2 closed out of it then could not reopen MCX2 or any of the prior versions of MC).
