When merging or copying drill points to another tool, a dialog pops up and asks "Retain depth veaues of merged drill points?" how many of you select yes?

I remember way back when I could modify the Default tool profile save it and it would pop up every time you selected that type of tool. I haven't done it in over a decade, I feel I might be doing something wrong. Here is my example: Finding say "RADMILL.MCX-5" exists in 2 places, 1 on our server (N:\SHARED MCAMX5\MILL\Tools) and again on our local (C:\Users\Public\Documents\shared mcamx5\MILL\Tools), OK now edit both files the same edit, save both files, open McamX5MU1 fresh , select tool and old default profile still exists in place of the edited. Default saved somewhere else? Q's? why would we edit a default tool? Well we set our corner rounding tools "Zero" at the blending flat. TIA ~CH

when our vericut seat is hogged up, I use STL Compare. Works great!

Another huge plus. is the ability to make your stock as you get it, (for verify) If you had an odd shaped peice of material or somthing with a defect in it, you can model it and use it to see if it cleans. Solids +10000

Does anyone know how to get my toolholder lib to stay default and loaded. X5 I have to reload it every time for every tool. Any suggestions?

One of the biggest complaints I see is somone asking a repeat question, only to get the "search the forum" answer. At least for me I see the search option as an #8 font text middle right when I get into the forum. Having a Much Larger "Search the forum first" button may cure this... IMO I do like the black/orange theme, Reminds me of 3.1 text menu. ^^

somtimes its hard to control the start point, I find somtimes I have to unroll the 3d geom and re-roll it in the toolpath.

How about Mastercam add this new feature called "Lock Toolbar" for X5 2010! Using multiple monitors and 1920x1200 Im not too happy everytime I have to resort. Its been around for a while excerpt from microsoft in 2004 "Have you ever had one of your toolbars suddenly disappear on you in Internet Explorer and when you check the View, the toolbar is selected? Chances are you accidentally moved the toolbar and it’s now hidden behind another one. A reader recently asked how to prevent toolbars in Internet Explorer from disappearing. Thankfully, Internet Explorer includes an option that allows you to lock the toolbars in place to prevent this from happening. So once you have all your buttons and toolbars in place, click View, Toolbars, and place a check beside the option to Lock the Toolbars. Now your toolbars will stay exactly where you want them to." Seems kind of basic dosent it?

Applied the patch. Works, although its kinda dark, drifts while dynamic spin and pan, but not thru my spaceball. Go-figure. I did update with latest drivers also. Thx for the .dll

I know its just my opinion but I believe X4 is the buggiest release ever. Crashed at least 4 times today, Tool bugs (tip angle and mystic tool property changes), Color bug, cant print shaded drawing, repaired NCI, and Verify has encounterd a serious critical error, notify somone. crash Sigh... My autosave is now set for 5min. MU1 me please! Vent complete... Now I feel a little better And yes I do appreciate all the new addons and hst like menus.

Roger, our .doc files are pathed to a "toolsheets" folder on our server. We wouldent need prompting. And yes we would like the .ss files to always goto their own folder. ~CH

X3 MU1 We use a .set file for our setup sheets. Is there a way to direct the .ss files somwhere else? or maby somthing to move the .doc file automaticly away from the .ss? Thank in advance.

Rule of thumb for me is to delete or change level on all wireframe entites on import, and create curves on faces as I need them (keeps it clean). And I always double check geom regardless as you can get burned by dirty models. Bryan's solution works well also.

Cant seem to do what I have done thousands times before. (Simple) remachining using depth of cut but springpass on every depth. reads... Multi pass 2 roughing passes at 0, 0 finish passes at 0, finish at all depths, D.O.C. set .375 max dpth 0 fin at 0, by countour. This used to take 2 passes at every depth. Now it seems to machine all depths twice. in that order. should be cut fin, cut fin, cut fin instead its cut cut cut, fin fin fin (btw lame laymans terms i know)

What should I expect to get in my overdue X3 install package? Not features, I mean things I can physicaly touch. :-)
