The fact that they are only .01" thick bugs me the most.
I made "spring fingers" out of "spring steel" many times. I can't remember the thickness off the top of my head, but I do remember that we machined them when they were way oversized (on the thickness), then ground them down to print.
^^^This!!
You are missing his point.... IMO this is huge.
if your part is shaped like an S, the backfeed move will follow the S, most of the time this is completely unnecessary. Weather you have an old machine or a new one, this is wear and tear on the machine and massive amounts of wasted cycle time...... and hand editing those moves is out of the question.
I'll drop something heavy on him.
Every word he posts here has the potential (albeit about the same potential as a M80 that you had in your car trunk for 13 years) to help someone.
If you look close he has posted a couple tid bits of information that may be helpful to someone who has been in the trade for less than a year.
He is shooting himself in the foot and he doesn't even know it.
Oh, you need help reloading.... here ya go buddy!
Try this....
Change the setting to feedrate, enter your desired retract feedrate, then click on the “Groove finish parameters” tab, then go back to the Groove rough parameters, then Green check out.
$20 says it will work...
I am with guitar, I learned everything I know about 5 axis on youtube, and fools that would offer to help me. Also bought my house on youtube, better price than a forclosure....
And I am also in agreement with him about everything else!
GUITAR FOR PREZIDENTE!
Glad to see someone in the world has the nads to stand up to all the people here!
PM me, Guitar. I'll be traveling south later this month and would love to have a beer with you!
I cannot think of anything other than using the 2 machine groups.
I thought I was going to be able to come up with that before you, until I got to the end of your post....
Some day...... some day
On the planes tab of the toolpath, are the work offsets all set to -1?
Some posts have a misc. integer that says "lock on first work offset" or something like that.
To help ensure you don't miss one while you are hand editing, search the code for "G5" this way all will come up (G54, G55, G56, G57........)
Or you could hardcode the pwcs postblock in your post to only output G54....
Hang on to your old computer......
V9 is now "unsupported".
It may work, it may not. I doubt you will get a straight answer.
I repeat....
Hang on to your old computer, even if you do get it to work on the new one.....
