  3. Graduated trade school in '89 from machine tool and die. Landed a job at Pratt & Whitney as an operator (button pushing only). Next stop was Stanley Works ( Terrible company to work for). Did manual programming and operating there for a couple of years. Been with this company since Version 5 ( anyone remember moldbase option for Mastercam?)Up and running using V9.1 now.

    View's

quote: And maybe I'm missing something here. Mastercam is not the only one that uses WCS. They maybe called by other names with different software, but the numbers of the views always corresponded with each other...For example View 1 in one software is also view 1 in another.

  10. quote: Is there a list anywhere of what they all do? Going through your Windows Explorer open up your mastercam folder. There is going to be a c-hook folder in there. Open it up. The c-hooks are explained in MS Word format and maybe text also (can't remember). Good Luck and enjoy.

  12. I don't have the 610, and/or a 635 controller (nor am I familiar with it). I do have a Meldas 520. If it will help you in any way please let me know.
  13. +1 Peter Personally I love learning new things. You have to if you want to stay ahead of the competition. I have never seen Mastercam go backwards in any of their releases.... For those afraid of changes you should pick up a copy of "Who Moved My Cheese". It's a dog eat dog world out there, and only the strong survive and thrive.
  14. MachineSMMC If it's milling I can help you. 420ss is all we cut in here now (Royalloy). Let me know what exactly you need.
  15. quote: How fast have you all driven/ridden? Hit about 150 in a newer Corvette... Scariest was getting an old shovel up to about 120. Front end was 8 in. over and it had 16 in. apehangers on it at the time. The bike felt like it was gonna rip itself apart.
  16. That would be a good idea. More than once our parts have fallen off the tombstone.. Pretty noisy. Lights out production would at least let me sleep at nights.
  17. In Operation Manager right click your NCI Icon for the operation you wish to edit. This will open up your tool editor. Select your pass and the point you wish to edit. Hit the edit button and Edit Point. Change your feed rate and select section... Repeat for every corner. I hope this helped..
  18. quote: Metallica rules Seen them back in or around '85. They just released Kill'em All. Maybe about 100 other people in the club...How things have changed for them over the years.
  19. quote: On a serious note I prefer Guhring or Titex. +1. Mitsubishi drills do great also...
  20. I'm not sure I understand, but do you want to squash your file? If so, it's in the Xform menu.
  21. We use Command tool holders and collets in here with TITAN solid carbide (4 flute length) end mills for certain applications. The runout for the tool can NOT exceed .0002, and it never does...No trick that I know of, just quality tooling.....Good luck.
  22. Open MCUTIL Select Options Program Setup Partners Select Mastercam Uncheck proper buttons Are you the Tom that went to Goodwin Tech???

  25. I have been going to Bike Week in Florida for years, and for the past 4 years Mooresville and vicinity has been my regular stop (only a few hrs. off I95). Always spend a couple of days there checking out the shops, but never allowed to see the machine shops...Maybe one day...
