i would imagine if there giving there sh!t away
its prolly like entry level stuff where its really
limited.I would guess its like an eval deal where
you try it find out you hate it then call your
local masyercam dealer,i think its another lousy
attempt by them to drum up sales,if history serves
me correctly there the ones who avoided solid
modeling in there package for as long as they
could claiming no one will want it its just a
phase. They`ve never really had what you could say
is a real strong business philosophy IMO
Theres a solids modeling encyclopedia for mastercam made by the same 2 guys i believe that
write the regular one.I would imagine your dealer
can sell it to ya
try backing the drivers down a version, that fixes the mx2 problems,i think some one said they were gonna upload the detonator3 drivers to the ftp site,if not e mail [email protected] and they will send e mail them to ya
quote:
1 there is no such thing as a dumb solid in mastercam.
You dont need to create surfaces from a solid as by definition a solid is a collection of surfaces conected allong their coedges to form a 'watertight' body. Some packages treat imported solids as 'dumb' but mastercam isnt one of them, all geometry imported into mastercam is immediately native and can be treated in exactly the same manner as solids or surfaces created in mastercam
no offense but please explain to me why when i import a solid into mastercam in the manager its just 1 body, mastercam doesnt use feature recognition as far as i know like you can on Solid Edge and i think Solid Works does it also,
mastercam solids imports it as 1 BODY that has no features defined in the solid manager tree

Im tellin ya bro get the drivers from CNC it`ll
fix it,i just had the exact same prob on a brand
new dell with that card and the back down version
drivers fixed it
ya gotta "dumb down your video drivers",an older
set of detonators work perfect,e mail the moderator jamie mattison and he`ll hook ya up,
then you`ll have no probs,i had the same prob on
a brand new dell with ME
I programmed an MH63 with a 15 on it for years and other fanuc 6,10,15 and 18`s,the codes on this site
http://www.emastercam.com/info/
will work fine, theres a few m codes for the pallet
changer that prolly arent on this site like
M60 is Pallet A in
M61 is Pallet A out
M62 is Pallet B in
M63 is Pallet B out
Even though its a 6 it oughta take say an M60 and
and run a predifined macro call for the lift and
seat of the pallet and such.
Heres a sample prog.,basically a little different
than some would do but just standard g code

lemme guess.......your using Win2000?..if so goto
your START,PROGRAMS,MASTERCAM,CNCREG and switch
your FILEGET DIALOG from mastercam to standard
windows,another possibility,under the CNCREG is
the ACTIVEX/DLL COMPONENTS tab, under that register
the 4 .OCX files

Cant beat Mcam solids for the price if ya
just wanna draw a quick final model for
cutting,any prototype drawings though i
prefer solid edge because of the parametric
abilities,wish mastercam would incorporate
that into their solids package
Spit out a wireframe IGES in solid
works and rotate the OD profile in side plane
back 90 degrees,v9 will make it easier when
its released

I`ve seen a couple NT systems that didnt like
the printer and hasp on the same LPT,its
only like 15 bucks for a card, also mounting
the hasp on the inside is a good idea for
training room cpu`s,we have a net hasp
mounted inside one of ours
I had mine on a laptop where the usb was in
the back, had to becareful moving it around
on the desk was all, havent use it in months,
went back to the regular sim, matter of
preference i guess
