  1. In X+, just click the Toollist icon. Set it up the way you with the menu boxes.. It prints all the tools in order.
  2. First off, you need to tell us a general location of where you are at. Second, you need to learn the machines FIRST, and what they can do. Learn the tooling, setup, and G-code. You wont make much to start, so be prepared for that. You got a lot to learn. Its up to you how fast. Next you will have to find a shop that is willing to train you. That can be hard right now, but a lot of shops do need help, so keep a good attitude. Take the classes on programming. learn to put the whole package together. Depending on how well you learn, expect to take several years, and possibly a few different shops that you will need to work at to see how thing are done. Don't expect to program till you have some years under your belt on the machines. If you make it this far, you will love the work. MOST IMPORTANT. grow a thick skin, and be patient.
  3. If you have a tight machine, and the part is set up true, that might work. TSC will help a lot. A 1 flute carbide drill might work. The great fall back is a carbide drill and a carbide reamer to follow. Machineguy
  4. Get a hold of "Thin Bit". They have the holders and bits for this kind of work. Machieguy
  5. Basically cuts like a D2 tool steel only more tool wear.
  6. Your "options" just changed ! Do what JLW says !
  7. Yea. There are many way to use WO's. Take time to know how to use them. Be kind to this guy. When was the last time you got thrown into the deep end of the pool?
  8. Done this before. Old style Rough, heat treat, finish with .001-.003 cut pass an every groove face. Repeat till done. It take time to do this. Feed is slow, you don't want string chips. Heavy metal bore bar also. Thin bit may work. You will need clearance on the sides of the tool so it wont rub. We made custom tools for this job. For you guys that don't know what this is I'll let the post starter say if he is allowed. Its not as easy as it looks. Machineguy Try one 12" deep!!
  9. What video card are you running on those computers? with all the cad programs running at the same time you need a lot memory and a qudaro card >5200. In your case, a top line Xeon chip and the correct memory will help a lot. PS. Forget windows 8.1. Go to Ver 10. and turn off the eye candy.
  10. I'm just 60 miles east of you. We have the same MC vendor. Shopware Inc. 888-222-7126 CALL them. Tell then who you are, company, and your Hasp #. Ask for some help to get you started. if you have permission from the IT guy at your work, Shopware can set up a 1 time only log into your computer and they can show you what's going on. Get the code for learning software and download it. If You set up your email in your profile, I'll contact you and give you a hand if needed.
  11. What ver of Mastercam are you using? A snippet of code will help so we can show you what's happening. Type 2 will follow the shape you programmed. Type 1 will break it down into liner moves. Remember your tool has to FIT the undercuts or it cant get into them. In that case you will need a plunge type tool to get the excess out on a separate tool path.
  12. Just not the 4000 model . I heard this a while back. Hope that's all the problem is, and it sound like it. The 2000 ver works, the next one above the 4000 starts costing money, but no more then a top of the line game card.
  13. sounds like another one of the special bugs. Some have the same issue, most don't. Like the Tool Manager problem that was fixed.
  14. Same card here. Have not had your issue. Driver 10.18.13.5456 Got something running in the background ?
  15. Random thought. what video card are you running?
  16. Can your dealer log into your computer remotely? I can do it here when I find a problem.
  17. Does the space mouse Pro Wireless have a noticeable lag as opposed the the wired version?
  18. Its still to tall to what I have now. At 1.7" high it wont fit my hand any better then what I have now.
