  1. I fixed this kind of problem before. It was a driver issue. It can be hard to nail down but since the computer is new, hit the seller ASAP and see if they have a answer. Could have a bad Video card. Long shot, but swap it out (drivers and all) with a different one.
  2. Check for a motherboard update to the BIOS. In fact go into the bios to see what's going on there . Then call where you got the computer. See if they got a answer.
  3. Jeff, I have a alienware 17" R4 w/ the 1080 and a 4K screen. Win 10 I would like to see what MC would do on it. Any game I play is super detailed on that screen.
  4. Like I said you might have issues in subs. GOTO doesn't work in a HAAS. I'll ask my tech at Haas on what's the best way to restart a sub in the middle that's 2 + hrs long. GOTO is allowed in Macros.
  5. Ive not tried this with subs, but have you tried turning on the RESTART in settings? Setting 36. Start on a g52 line. SLOW it down the first time. You might have issues with the way the subs are written. Machineguy
  6. Your "Z" position is off for tool changing. You need to find the parameter and change it. Talk to the place where you bought the machine. That need to be fixed before you start running jobs. We had to replace our tool change arm on the HAAS. No big surprise. It was bent after 8 years of running from pulling tight tools out of the spindle. It was re-aligned to the spindle and the Z position. nice and quiet now. But it is a HAAS !!
  7. The one that gave you the X,Y,Z position of any point. It helps when I work with a tooling ball and setting up a fixed rotation or angle on vise jobs. Thanks, Machineguy
  8. The latest version doesn't have the same tools. I must have had a beta version when it came out for 2017.
  9. All I have is the free version. I'll uninstall it, then reinstall.
  10. Mastercam doesn't give you a 3 point location. Verisurf tools does. Its a big help for the setup sheets Thanks for your help. Machineguy
  11. Running 2017 with the Verisurf tools . I can no longer use the tools . It shows in the preferences that Im out of time. Is there a fix for this? I thought it was free to use. I'm I wrong? Machineguy
  12. creating curves on a import is a 3d mode. Your model is 3d. Doing it manually your in 2d mode. as in the hole, you put a curve on the top and the bottom. There is no connection as in a line between the upper and lower hole.
  13. Done this for years. It has its place. 3M makes the tape. ITs not cheap, but it works fine. The trick to getting the parts off is to use acetone (or coolant) to break the bond. Get it wet at the edges and pry slowly. keep wetting till it gives. On thicker parts, get it wet and tap it with a plastic hammer .Repeat till it moves. There are a lot of parts that don't lend themselves to normal fixturing. Just take lite cuts and go fast. Don't use flood coolant or the parts will go flying. spray mist. AND don't get the parts HOT. That will also release the bond. Cut the parts to the tape. We use .010 thick paper back. Don't use the foam kind. They also make .005" thick, CAll a REP for 3M to get the #'s of the tape.
  14. If you are in this business, your already there!!!!
  15. Hogwash. At a machine stop in the program, door open. Push jog button, what feed you want, then choose the axis you want to move. Now use the jog handle. When done, close the door, hit the mem button, then cycle start.
  16. Anything above 2012 cannot be overridden. Thank OSHA for that, and all the untrained machinists. And its a Haas control. Its 99% fanuc compatable. You have 3 options on the way you want it to work. Fanuc, Haas, Yasnac.
  17. The BIESSSE is Italian made. The owner has one in our other building. It does not interface with Mastercam very well. It has its own macros and language. It also has its own software. I just saw a new gearbox for it the other day. Don't know what happened there. The tooling for it is awesome. The mini chansaw attachment is cool for routing cavities in the sides of doors. Price isn't real bad. It does run like a raped ape.
  18. Try this: Reset your order of operations. Delete the stock flip Create a new stock flip in its place. Keep only the ops before the flip active. Just regen those ops. Don't regen the ops after the flip till you reset the geometry. Stock flip does not let go of its buffer once set. Just have to start that op over to get it to reset. Even then it hangs once in a while.
  19. No more Vac#2. It causes water retention problems. The new stuff doesn't.
  20. We switched to Mobil SCH 625 as requested by Haas about 2 years ago. Both the lathe and mill. We had a spindle go bad after 5 yrs. It was about $5000 exchange plus about 5 hrs change out. Hass flushed the system and did the change.
  21. Change your lead in ,arc and lead off setting just a little. It might be seeing something we don't see.
  22. Thinbit cutoff tool, lots of coolant, a basket or rag to catch the parts, and your finger crossed.
