What settings and programs should I change for the nivida P4000? I have added master cam to list, but after 2-3 hours running you lose the classic back plot shading. It is wnd 10 I7700K With nivida P4000.
We got are 500 vc-500a/5x this spring, with one tweak are postabilty post, and some parameter changes, has been working great!! the full 5 axis paths and also 3+2 positioning paths work perfect. just pick up part and start cutting it works great. pick up the part center top in machine, have center top wcs in mc. its way better then a 4th axis. All we do is molds and prototypes, i hope you like it. We also bought the simulator and it has also worked vary well, now you can check holder collision on legacy ops also, it seems to be working vary well what you see is what you get. It is worth every penny (i do not Know how much it cost?) But the post and the simulator was less then the cost of the holders and insert cutters to tool up the machine. we already had a 5 axis hasp (from upgrading from v9 to x1) so theirs that. Have fun you will like it. And for us center of rotation dosn't matter, it will if the machine moves (hopefully not).
I would go with solid carbide end mills for hard milling (designed for hard milling) if its a shallow cut use a feed mill style cutter, if its (big) and shallow i now Iscar makes a insert for hard milling for the fast feed line. Use dynamic cutting all the way, if the insert or cuter is in the cut to long the temperature will max out the insert or the cutter and cause it to fracture. D2 is vary hard, but with the right tools and speeds its butter.
if modeled right surf finish project would work make a line or a path you want to fallow and it will go up and down and you may need at least two passes. or maybe pencil.
G53.1 P1 ??
This is the only post edit we had to do for are postablety post, we started with no p that is 0, P1 is a b positive solution p2 is negative, everything has worked perfect sens.
is there a spot to set a tolerance for surfs made, normally they look fasseted to other geometry.
JP said to scale it so probably not. (Like setting solid tolerances, so when you create curves on edges, the solid tolerances are the default )
You can still change the hot keys in 2018, and if you make your own tabs the workplace is fine, with out docking you can not tell what color you are in or move levels with out clic clic (and please, put a number with the color). We are number people.
If someone exports out of solid works with a large tolerances, that is the shape of your part, if you machine to the model it will have facets.
It takes to long with that small tolerances the designer says!
We got the Postability post and the simulator, Played around a little bit, it looks like fun. The machine should be ready to ship 3-28-18 so hopefully we will have time to play a little more. There might be a learning curve!!
Thanks for your input!!
It will have the 12000 rpm spindle, 30 tool changer, probing, and it should have all the high speed and 5 axis control stuff . Hopefully every thing will work great. The stuff we want to do should fit in the envelop of the 500mm cube. we talked to a mazack tech today and he said that the one we will get will have a larger casting and be more ridged then the ones sold a year ago or so?? we did want a faster spindle and larger tool changer. but the time line and limitations off options prevented it. Hopefully it will be a nice starter model!!
