  2. hi bob have you also heard, do not ream? it has been a long time but think it still holds true. do not try to ream. I have used reamers in titanium. the carbide ones work ok. the hss and cobalt like to seize on the tool. the same thing is said to happen on mag. for ti i have shortened the flute length of the reamer to 1/4 " or so and ream thru with a little success. I have never tried this on mag. billy
  3. Hi greg, wfo just kidding, one thing I have learned is when drilling make sure you take a big enough chip so it throws it off of the drill. the worst thing for me is when the plastic balls up on the tool it starts to melt and damage the part. beside that everything is pretty easy. you can pretty much run as fast as you want. just try not to melt the plastic. holding the part can get strange. unlike metal where you can hang on to 1/8" in a vise. the plastic will deform and make life tough. so be sure you are holding enough to secure you workpiece. billy
  4. change feed plane and top of stock to 0 incremental.

  8. you could use a lead in/out. the thing is that when you create a circle the endpoint is to the right at 0 degrees. you could rotate the circle -90 degrees and it will go y-. other wise it should go x+. if you want to start and finish at the same point then specify it in the lead in/out page. billy

  12. when drilling make sure that you take a fast enough to throw the chip off the drill. if the chips ball up it will melt the top of the part.
  13. Happy fire season Jay. we look pretty good here in simi. the moorpqrk fire wont be here until noon or so. i hope the ss field lab doesn't catch again this year. I hate the smell of sodium reactors in the morning. still things could be worse. we've only had 1 earthquake this year. if you need anything just let me know. you can use the shop for storage or whatever. billy

  16. check your gap setting. increasing the gap will usually allow the step between paths to connect.
  17. i like flat em but use the 2 vertical walls as check surfaces so you don't gouge them.
