  1. Our dealer does not seem to be a Mastercam expert. But, you are right. I am using a Microsoft Trackball Optical. It has never been an issue before this version of MC.
  2. That sounds like 4 shots. Post setup copy setup paste setup post program
  3. I would think the mouse is not the issue. I am also having problems in 2019. I program my wheel to delete when pressing on it. In every other software, even pre 2019 MC, it works. Now, it does nothing. Maybe the real issue is to get a different software, and leave the hardware alone. Too many times MC tries to blame everything else but MC, when the real issue is MC. It would be nice if they would just fess up and say, yeah, it's MC and we are working on a fix. That way customers to not have to spend hours troubleshooting.
  4. Actually, you do not need to draw any lines if you have a model. Just select 1 edge and computer comp (right of left) and use ramp. That is the easiest you can get.
  5. Started using the following PC mc2019 i5 4670 16gig ram nvidia quadro K620 When trying to edit tools, the tool manager does not display correctly. It appears as just an outline. I have to TRY to grab the dialog and move it from monitor to monitor to get it to become visible. Then when trying to make edits, the drop down menus are all clustered together and I have to move the dialog from screen to screen. Restarting MC does not help. Turning off hardware accelerator does not help. nVidia drivers are up to date. Any suggestions?
  6. I have seen the step238. If one company call a drill a Plunge Gizmo and another calls it a Material Extractor, there is no technological advantage over just calling it a drill.
  7. I guess this IS a new feature. You can suppress this message in "Advanced Configuration" under "User Interface".
  8. Ok, here is the way I did it. I started with a default of .125 tall characters. I used viewsheets with a string of 10 boxes the size and spacing of each character. On every different viewsheet was a different character. 10 of the same characters in line. So, when you tuned on all viewsheets you got all of the characters overlaid on top of each other each other within the box. Then, I created toolpaths for each character. Within each character op comment was a jump code (YES this is one reason it is VERY useful to remove the parenthesis from 1008 comment codes within your posts). Think outside the box. And, within each of those ops I used change at point to control the specific actions of each op and insert IF/GOTO commands within the program. Now you are all probably thinking, what If I want .25" high characters, or characters on an angle, or od, or whatever. What this allowed me to do was scale, rotate or do whatever, and just repost the code. Within the Fanuc control all the operator had to do was fill in what he wanted engraved within macro variables. #510 controlled how many characters, up to 10. #511-#520 are what you would use to enter the starting characters. Entering 99 gave you a dash. #509 controlled serialization. The program posted out the code to offset G59. The first letter started near G59 x0y0z0 and the operator was given a point as to where to place G59 in relation to G54/55 or whatever. Op1 was always G54, op2 G55, and so on.
  9. Why is it that machine tool builders cannot develop an ISO for terminology?
  10. On the "Wireframe" tab select the "arc tangent" icon and your options pop up.
  11. You know, if your dump the paranthesis in the 1008 comments in your post, you can do most of those things right in your OP comments so you don't need all those manual entries.
  12. I also had a lot of problems with updating files. 2019 still sees them as 2018 files.
  13. Let's just say you need to rely on "change at point" a lot.
  14. Why? You could use excel, right?
  15. Yeah, can't post MC files here. I uploaded it to some share site a couple of years ago.
  16. Yeah, I did that, too. I actually wrote a serial engraving macro within Mastercam that can do exactly what you want. People are still trying to figure out how I did it
  17. Yes, it is possible. Just project your text to the od. Create a surface on the od as a projection "screen".
  18. The biggest problem with active reports is that you must rely on MC predefining all of the tags. A lot of the info I generate for setup sheets comes from formulas that I created within my post processors. So, that rules out active reports.
  19. I use manual entry for instructions. I created a post processor that pulls the manual entry info out of MC and tool info and each process info. Then, for pics, I have viewsheets set up that I just print for each op. Active reports is too limited.
  20. It's never too late to do the right thing.
  21. Did they give you your $3500.00 back?
  22. In the tool definition setup there are selectors for tool manufacturer name and material grade. Can someone please tell me what file stores this info?
