  1. Do you have another cad pakage that you can use to create the solid and export as .stl ? This is how I do it.
  2. My resume is on the way ! Thanks !
  3. ------- guys, Try this: --------- Hey now that's cool ! Thanks !
  4. I often wondered the same thing. If you have umpteen ops and umpteen levels being used and you didn't ref the level to the ops in the decription field (which I do to often)how do you know which op the geometry belons to ?
  5. I have an NC to iges converter if anyone is interested. It works too. I have to dig it up. Havn't needed it in a long time.
  6. Some machines move off in the axis that is in line with the orintation keys on the tool holder when spindle orientation is invoked. Look in your haas book and find the M code and try it in MDI and see where it orients. HTH
  7. stevieboy Try xform/offset . Your a Pro-E guy right ? How did you like that system ? I used Catia for about six years all together and liked it alot. I am actively looking fo a new job and Pro-E might be a requirement some day since it's seems to be almost as common as Solidworks. At least in Power Generation anyway and that's what I want to get back into if I can.
  8. ----------------------------------------------- ctrl-click (de-select)the paths that you DONT want to verify I do it all the time. ----------------------- I was doing that too but I was trying to save myself a another step. I did find If yo choose the select all button (highligting everything) then post, MC will automaticaly unselect the ops that are "post disabled". Then verify. Thanks guys !
  9. I have a file with 46 ops with Transform by coordinates being used to make two of the same parts and end up with 92 ops in the manager. I set the transform ops to no post. Is there a way to set the transform ops to be ignored by Verify ? Otherwise I have to select all machining ops and not select the transform ops so Verify will run through all ops without stopping.
  10. ----------------------- CTRL-ALT-DEL ----------------------- +1000 Travis. Learn somthing new every day !
  11. ------------------------------------------------- Is it legal to open 2 sessions of MC on the same computer? ------------------------------------------------- Only one person can use the PC at a time so I don't see why not.
  12. Hey I just realized I have over 200 post ! Now I have to find an Avatar.
  13. -------------- Easy-Rob -------------- Is that Bob Cadd out on a drinking binge ? Sorry I couldn't help it.
  14. Which post are you using ? By the way do you have any relatives in PA. I saw your last name and there is a few Replogle's I know in this area. Not a very common name so I thought I'd ask.
  15. -------------------------------- Paul, I have a good friend in PA -------------------------------- Thanks Shady ! Sorry for hijacking the thread guys.
  16. Trouble finding good employer here. I have moved 3 times in the last 2 1/2 years. Looking for challenging posistion with good health benefits and decent salary. Not to much to ask is it ?
  17. ------------------------------------------ Take your 3 months to find a new job then sail my friend. You'll be doing yourself a favor. ------------------------------------------ I know this is easier said than done but look for a place that trys to stay current with their programming and engineering software. Working with cad models is a must these days and you need the right tools to work with. There are so many benefits to having Solids and or 3d data I can't even begin to list them. Of course ask about healt benefits and retirement plans too. Again, Good luck with whatever you do.
  18. I forgot to ask what the code was doing. Is there a G93 on your x z b move ? I'm thinking the x only appears to be off because Inverse Feed rate is not turned on.
  19. Relax, The big guy as you call him sounds like a real Di#* Head. Everyone gets caught in a rut now and then. Do you like it there ? If not I would start looking and if you find somthing better go for it. I worked in the family business for eight years and my Brother was the boss. By the time I left I had ZERO self esteem because of the never ending guilt trip. My point is don't let one person brow beat you into submission. You obviously have talent being the only programmer taking care of 30 cnc's with multi axis capabilities. No one gets it right the first time I don't care who they are. There is always somthing that needs to be changed or improved. In most cases there has to be a setup part to work with. What if your down to the last op and you have a day left before you have to deliver the parts and somthing goes wrong. Who looks bad then. Not you. The guy who priced the job and didn't take human error factor into consideration. I could go on forever so I'm going to stop now. Take your time and check your work. Look for the obvious things first. If you have good post processors you shouldn't have to examine the code too closely. Good luck !
  20. Is there a "common offset" setting ? I programmed an 18i on a 5 Axis Super Abrasive grinder a few years back. We had a similar problem when the "common offset" setting got changed by mistake.I think it's on the first page when you push the offset key. It's been a while since I've messed with that control so my memory is a little fogged. HTH.
  21. Sounds like the file was exported without the surfaces. Request a parasolid or step file if you can.
  22. A High School friend approached me with this a few years back. He bought into a frachise called Cryocore. He was serviceing a cabinet shop treating all there carbide router bits. From what he told me it trippled the life of those tools. I let him treat a HSS e.m. for me but never got he chance to test it because the placed closed up. I do know that my buddy does not have the business anymore so either he just couldn't sell the idea or it dodn't work well enough for people to buy into it.
  23. ------------------------------------------------- Let’s say we take a chill on this one for a while guys. ------------------------------------------------- I agree with Jack. This tech school student is probably no more than eighteen years old and full of xxxx and vinager and soaking wet behind the ears. I have a twenty year old son at home that still hasn't learned to engage brain before opening mouth. Like all children they have to learn from their mistakes. Maybe he will, Maybe he won't. Give him a chance to redeem himself before crucifying him. Just my two cents worth.
  24. -------------------------------- +1 on Robk's bad mouthing the old job point. along those lines ------------------------------- I wouldn't consider bad mouthing bad if it's done constructively. Alot of employers will make alot of promises and blow alot of smoke up you arse to get you in, Then 4-5 months down the road nothing changes and you wind up in a position that you didn't want and wish you would have taken the job at the other place you interviewed. It's happened to me more than once. These are the things I will bring up at an interview and it hasn't hurt my chances of getting a job.
