There are a couple of ways.

 

Either click on All in the ribbon bar or Only...

 

The pop up will have Xform result and group near the top click on it and they are selected.

 

Or click on groups at the bottom right of the screen.

How do you create curves from solid?? I can create curve one edge. I see the all edges menu but can't get to work.

 

I am using the demo if that is the culprit.

Create, create curve on all edges, then select the icon that has a blue box with a green check mark in it, that activates the solid. Then select the solid.

 

I had the same problem and it drove me nuts until I found that icon.

how do you unselect a drill point that you just picked?

toolpath manager, select the geometry for the toolpath you need to delete the point from, select the point, right click in the window and delete point.

I translated "all entities" (lines-arcs-solid), then click "undo". Everything returned except the "solid". No more 'undo's left and solid remains pernamently placed.

 

Also, when creating a line between 'intersection', I have to hit the 'intersection' icon everytime. Is it possible to make X "remember" last endpoint selection?

If I have the snap-to icon set to intersect in the ribbon bar it does stay set like that until I change it. I use the autocursor and the two cross line symbol shows up at intersections while I am drawing.

 

Don't know why yours won't stay.

My autocursor doew not show 'intersection' and it is check in the dialog box. It show 'arc-center, mid-point, end-points, but not intersection.

 

The endpoint icon for intersection remains, but it is not active. the icon is out, not in. I have to 'press' it before it becomes active.

Just one more question . . . How do you extend geometry? The help menu tells you that it can be done by saying, "Select the Extend/shorten end of contour option . . . ", but not how, nor where this is located.

 

I've notice that in the Helps files, it only tell what and not how something can be done.

A little hint.....Put a shortcut on your desktop, I've used it enough that it's easier that way.

To extend lines and stuff use the trim (scissors)

command and push in the icon that has an arrow and what looks to be a ruler in the value beside it is the amount you will extend the line.

On the topic of extending...

 

I know that once I have the Trim ribbon bar active, I can just type 'L' to extend by a distance. The question--is there a way to type in the distance I want without moving my mouse up to the drop down list by the arrow/ruler icon? It seems silly to use the 'L' key and then have to move the mouse up there anyway to type in the distance.

Tip:

 

If you only program one machine, and do not want to select a Machine Definition before programming every time, just add the .mmd filename to the Mastercam X shortcut properties as follows:

 

C:mcamxmastercam.exe sdcc_haas_toolroom.mmd

 

In this case, Mastercam boots up in Mill mode with sdcc_haas_toolroom.pst active.
