it didn't crash for me for some time now.

I think hardware play a big resone for crashes

so maybe you can try the same part on two diff computers, one will crash and one wont.

for that reson reporting the crashes to qc will help them in solving such problem.

and I don't think reporting the crash here will help

Started a new job Monday_ had a couple of crashes

Turned off System Restore

Installed NVIDIA drivers 77.56 ( Solidworks likes them)and disabled unified back/depth buffer

Made sure "Save a bitmap" was turned off

Went to My Computer (right clck)/Properties/

Advanced/Performance/Settings/and clicked the radio button "Adjust for best peformance"

(All that Windoze eyecandy uses a lot of horsepower)

No crashes Tuesday or Wendsday

J.Keilman:

Tried what you mentioned several times with no crash. In fact I use this same method to create a similar toolpath for a turned post. Maybe your seeing this due to a setting that someone already might have mentioned here? Your issue caught my eye since I do this on a regular basis.

although the title may be somewhat negative, i still think this is a good thread.

this is a users forum and if crashing seems to be a problem for some, perhaps this thread can shed some light on the causes. the negativity aside, i think cnc should welcome the feedback (as they usually do) as a challenge to improve the product.

if there are a lot of crashes, or just a few, either way let the truth be told and see what shakes out.
