Use the rads and lead ins. I interpolate lots of little holes with endmills just a bit smaller all the time

Martin, Another approach is to select a point before the arc and then select "use entry point" in the lead in/out page, you can then at your option use a lead in arc without defining an entry line, Mastercam will add a line of the correct length automaticaly. Hope that helps.

More attention to the Lathe side of MCX2.

C-Axis Milling in Lathe that supports lead-in and out as well as multiple passes and depths, now the key part, with cutter compensation ON in either wear or control.

C axis lathe is not restricted to C axis milling

toolpaths, all the 2d 3d and 5X milling toolpaths in Mastercam can be used on mill turn machines

Its been that way since V7.

Of course you have to have a milling enabled HASP

to use them.

Not sure if you can do this in X2, but it would be nice to be able to program multiple operations while others are regenerating.

Until then, just Enter through the surface selection options and continue with your parameters. Select Keep operation if prompted to. Then drag and drop the geometry from the other op into the new one and regen.

Click the "?" in any dialog box. That will take you to the help on that subject. Click the Field Definitions tab and you'll get the same thing. A few more clicks, but it's still pretty quick.

Still, I'd at least like to at least see an option to switch to the old style. I can see how now it's great if you want to also completely read about your topic, but most of the time I just want the specifics right then, right there, like it used to be.

In the Mastercam X editor:

 

Go to Tools - Options. On the "Editor" tab enter "EIA" in the "additional extentions to recognize as NC code" section. Do not include the decimal point, just the three letters.

Colin, that works when i post a file, but if I go to a folder to edit a file, I still have to select "All Files" and wade through the .NC and .TXT files.

As a quick fix (not quite what we want) you can also enter *.EIA in the File Name field and hit enter.

I would like to see a way to delete levels. you could get rid of a bunch of garbage when open AutoCad files with 50 different layers. I know you can turn them off, I just want to turn them off forever.

You can delete all the entities on the respective levels you want. Turn them all on, then click the "All" button, select the "levels", then select checkbox. Now select each level you want to delete, OK, then the delete key.
