X2 or MR2

I used the new X2 MR1 today for the first time. They have fixed a ton of things this time around. Some of my issues have been addressed but are still not perfect. A lot of new functionality in the high speed stuff. Before you ask I got it from my MC reseller.

No I mean X2 MR1. My Masteracm dealer installed it for me today. It has a new trochoidal cutting feature in core roughing high speed toolpath. The list of things they repaired when you read the "what's new" file is staggering. I have only tried a few things with MR1 but so far so good.

Well I did see somewhere that MR1 would be out by the end of the week. If I am looking at this correctly it is already Friday in some parts of Australia.

Actually after looking at a map, it looks like all of Australia is Fraday now.

Nobody said you did anything wrong. Just seems like every release someone lets out early. Sure lets you know who can keep a secret and who can't.

stating it was available for maintenance customers,

being an MR, that's the only people who will get it. Don't ya think if it was available to all maintenance customers that it would be available to download?

The beta sites are testing a version known as

MR1_PC (production candidate). Normally

this is the version that everyone gets...

as long as the beta sites don't find any problems.

Sometimes dealers give the PC to some of thier customers. MR1 will get here when it gets here

That's all I can say about beta stuff smile.gif

Mastercam NewsFlash February 2007

Maintenance Release Delivers Enhanced Toolpath

Control

Released in March, Mastercam X2 MR1 is available to all Maintenance customers and all new Mastercam customers. This release introduces new capabilities including improved toolpaths for high speed machining, multiaxis enhancements, and more. Here is a sneak peek of what the MR1 release delivers:

I hope all of this makes you edgey types happy. Maybe CNC Solutions like their Canadian customers better. I can understand that. LOL

As you can see, it is not a Beta version or anything like that. Good luck with your reseller.

Out.

Gcode is correct, MR1 has not been officially released. My guess is that Prosin Molds will want to reinstall MR1 when it is released as what they have now must be a production candidate version. We're doing all we can to get this thing buttoned up as quickly as possible. Please continue to be patient (as my boss would say). smile.gif

Carmen, you didn't do anything wrong, but your dealer jumped the gun. You are running beta software and you will be reinstalling when the

the official MR1 release comes out.

Meanwhile, enjoy your status as an unofficial and unintentional beta tester smile.gif
