I'm just trying to coax a 9.1 guy to make the switch. He's set in his his ways so to speak (thats a nice way of saying that he's f-ing stubborn).

Ï'm still useing 8.1 because the company I work for thinks its good enough. But they upgrade our engineers ProE every time a new one is released.

My boss runs wire 7 & and has mill 8.1 i came last year he upgraded to X2 AND X3 but wont run X told me to convert files to dxf so he can open in wire 7 i told him X was way better he just said thats why i pay you the big bucks he's happy with wire 7 i do his files everyones happy

V9.1SP2 here. We own all of the new stuff, but I have decided to run what we know until I see some real reason to switch. 85% of our programming is turning, and my guys have a lot of other responsibilities on top of programming, we probably spend about 15-20% of our worked hours actually programming on average [maybe less], so I haven't felt there was much of an ROI making the switch. Sometime this year I think we'll transition, but I am in no particular hurry [obviously].

Still have 9.1 on as backup just "in case"also X2 and X3 will be cleaning it up once we're convinced most X3MU1 issues are taken care of.Agree v9.1 bites compared to X series..

Still have 9.1 as a back also. Actually used it once last month.

Otherwise X2 and when all the bugs are gone X3.

 

First priority: Spend time making parts.

Second priority: Spend time dealing with buggy software improvements.

still running 9.1sp2 here at work I've used 10 a bunch outside of work and I like it just can't get them to switch and now is not the time to be asking for upgrades they are pinching everywhere.

Deleted V9 as soon as I updated all the ge3 files. Been using X since it was released. I learned on V9, and I still think X is 10000000000000000000000000000000000000000 times better.

I might be a rarity here, but I never even touched Mastercam until X. I had seen the menu system int the V9 software, and after using Unigraphics, I wouldn't even apply for a job that used Mastercam. The UI just seemed so archaic to me.

The shop manager here was using v9 until about a year ago. I am the Guinea pig so I get to make all the settings and posts work, and find the problems we'll run into and fix them. We then install the new version on all other PC's usually a month or more after mine and I act as tutor when one of the others hit a snag. This approach has worked out pretty well for our upgrades.

We had ProNC but they gave it to a sister company about 8 years ago. Thats when they got Mastercam for me.

There's a chook out there, that will convert all your ge3 files to mc9...forget what it's called, but I used it, then got rid of mc9.
