I just wanted to chime in and say Im currently busy over on the other thread ... figuring out what feed to run a theoretical HSS tool 3 times oversped so that it will consume all 10 HP of a nonexistent lathe in an unspecified amount of time for a teacher I never met in a class I am not enrolled in.

So as much as I would like to share my Conservative Middleground issue-oriented Leftwing views on immigration, drivers liscensing and the socio-econimic condition of a state that I couldnt live further from, I will have to pass.

I have enjoyed reading however. biggrin.gif

Woooaaahhhh everyone!!!

1. This country is far less corrupt than most.

2. Everyone has a right to freedom, but not everyone has a right to illegally cross the border and move here. It would be nice if some of those with such ambition would stay behind and reform their own corrupt system rather than giving up on it and moving here.

I'm as compassionate as the next person, but there is only so much illegal immigration we can handle. That's why I think a LEGAL guest worker program should be instituted; I can't see the down side of that.

Well if it were not for my Daughter the last time I was in Brazil I would problay still be sitting in a Jail cell doen there. We go to visit my wife's grand mother and well the police set-up check point where they can stop you. Everytime we have not got stopped untill this time. They pull pu block the road and start demanding out papers and things like that. I lucky against my wife advice brought my and my daughter's passports. They are wanting out papper and start drawing guns when in english I say I dont have any. I am shi??ing bricks at this point cuase you dont want to go to jail in Brazil folk I have seen them and our worst prison is a freaking resort compared to these things. I was cool untill everyone esle started freaking and mad at my wife for telling me not to bring the passport but I just dont speak the language and lucky I got the passport word down and ask if I had them would that be a godo thing. My wife screaming at me yes yes then I produce them and them out come the apoligies cuase with me might got away with hauling me off but a 3 month old kid hell no. We get a freaking escort out of the state we where in and through the next 3 check points. The whole time I am the hero cuase I was smart enough to bring our passports. Moral of the story take your freakign passport everywhere you go when outside the USA expect Bagdad of course. I can just see me sitting by the pool at the Bagdad Inn getting crap cuase I got that passport out telling the world I am American.

  • 3 weeks later...

I was just reading thru these posts and had to put my 2 cents in

I have no problem with people who come to this country legally and

Abide by the laws of the land. No matter where they come from or why.

I do however have a problem with people who are here illegally.

Let me give you an example.

When I bought my house we moved into a nice quiet neighborhood

In the past 15 years the neighborhood has been over run with illegal

And has been trashed. There are junk cars parked in driveways and on streets

One person buys a house and two weeks later there are 10-20 adults

Living in a 3-bedroom house. Drunks stumbling all over the place.

Friday night gun fights and drunks reliving themselves on whatever building

Is closest regardless of anything or anyone but themselves.

I have had 3 cars totaled by illegal without insurance

I found out they were illegal after they were caught, either that day or a few days

Later. My daughter has been chased by an illegal in a car (at the tile she was just 12)

(I caught up with him 2 weeks later waiting at the elementary school)

So the moral of the story is “If you’re here legally and living by the laws WELCOME”

if not “GET THE HELL OUT”

Tim Hollis,

Everybody in this forum envies your position and opportunity – I will admit this freely, that I am indeed jealous. wink.gif

My question back to you is what is a free trade zone and how does it benefit a country(s) or commodity?

IMHO – you are just a lucky sob that was not considered in the grand scope of things. (Note: this is not meant to be disrespectful at all).

In other words, I believe your opportunity or success is nothing more than a happy accident hidden within or behind questionable government bureaucracy - to put this mildly. biggrin.gif

I truly enjoy your comments and outlook to be differing than most others. Please convince me to move where you are – the most striking difference is that at 48 years I know I will probably still be earning a living in 20+ years (only if my eyes can hold out that long).

P.S. This thread is so long that I cannot tell if I am hijacking.

cheers.gif

Regards, Jack

Good Morning, Jack.

I would be happy to give a brief posting on American Free Trade Zones, and answer your questions.

But before I do, I would like to hear from some of the other members, what I put up, is going to really make some people angry. Like me when I 1st found out, while I still had my own shop and was paying the tab for 80 employees back in NY.

There are pluses and minuses for everybody, doing this.

I don’t want to put myself into the Hall of FLAME!

I enjoy this Forum, and it's an absolute necessity for me, 1st the problem solving, the interaction, the community spirit.

Even though I run a website here for what is called an Ex-Patriot(Ex-pats), and Moderate a message forum laid out similarly like this one for

Members: 4,795, Threads: 25,553, Posts: 161,767.

This is where, I get my SANITY!!

So do you guys really want to know how the U.S. Government helps BIG companies, legally manufacture those American Made Products, across the pond?????????

And no, this is not NAFTA, I’m talking about.

Let me know.

And if yes, should I start it as a new THREAD?

Thanks

Tim H.

I think its the "Why" that concerns me.

Perhaps the powers that are, feel the world is going to end soon. Maybe they could care less what happens as long as they can make the most money they can, in the least amount of time to aid their cause.......but this is a whole-nuther-subject entirely rolleyes.gif
