I could have said something like “trolls please do not respond”, or ”only those who agree with me respond only”. But that would be irrational and illogical, since I would not make a request to gain “personally”. I had the interest of the whole forum in my mind all along, and suggesting that I have insulted all members of the forum is at best ridiculous and at worst it’s barking at the wrong tree.

 

Having more post (and that is something to pause on; is it “quality” posts, or just the “quantity” that matters), does not necessarily give you the right to boycott and discredit a so-called “noobi” altogether.

 

The change I was looking for was not just for myself; everyone would benefit from it.

You make few good points. What can I say. I read other people’s posts, and I saw how “oldies” treat so-called “noobies”. That was the rational behind typing my lead post like that. I also hate people jumping to conclusion without even knowing me, like “he is young grad just outta school!”. WRONG!. I am a journeyman Machinist in my late 30’s with years of experience in industry and in working with people. I just hate the idea of having fear to post something, then someone saying “get an eye exam” and rubbish comments like that, that gets my nerves. I do not intend to generalize, but I see how and what people here talk and type and makes me a bit defensive. I wish I could think “positive” and think everyone is O.K., but realistically, there are few bad apples and my warning in the beginning was to them. And exactly they were the ones attacking me. I just rest my case.

Having seen how "some" members treat newcomers on other post, based on the number of their threads, prompted me to pose my request in the lead post in that fashion.

 

In other words, I respectfully asked to "not bother" replying but they replied with insult anyway.

This noob wants to change his vote. I voted before I read this whole thread and I would not want to support anything that was initiated by a person who showed so much disrespect for some of the greatest minds in the trade as far as I'm concerned. So if you can Dave add one to the no and subtract one from the yes.

With one color change request, I made 3 friends, got two leads and found out who the trolls are!

 

In the future you imbeciles (you know who you are) don't bother even reading my threads, because I would not need/ask/want help from the likes of you.

 

It is good to find out "problematic" folks and those who think they know everything, think they can be disrespectful to noobies, and think they are the jack of all trades and master on none.

 

 

Color change request, IMO, was/is a valid request. I have my windows settings set to "default" so that is why the topic column shows as dark orange. The green color that I saw looked just fine, but it was set back to original settings by dave.

 

Finally my message to all newbies:

IF YOU HAVE ANYTHING IN YOUR MIND SAY IT, SUGGESTIONS, COMMENTS, REQUESTS, CRITICS, IDEAS,.....AND DO NOT BE AFFRAID OF TROLLS PULLING YOUR LEG AND TRYING TO SILENCE YOU.

I look at this place as to what alot of others have as a community.
