No.

My computer it´s a very expensive hardware, and it´s not necessary a kind of equipment like that.

Commonly, low end and old computers like P1 and 486´s are sufficient for this.(we use a 486 notebook for communications).

Since V7, mastercam improve very much, and your hardware requirement too, then, it´s not interesting use expensive computers for this mission.

And CimcoEdit do it too.

In the past, I believe that this resource helped so much, but today, it´s not needed.

Only my humble opinion.

I use it but would rather not. I have "little" programs I use frequently and would rather not open MC for that.

PS Ethernet not an option, controller too old. I have done the drag and drop on newer controllers-it is the way to go. Much faster even at 10 mbps.

We use it on soemtimes whe we need ot send files to Fadals drip feed method to more than one machine at a time. I will use cimco for one machine and Mastercam for another Machine keep from having to spend extra money. The trick here is to have more than one com port. I have 6 on this computer so I just have to change port when going to different machines. I know only need 4 but before we got the ethernet for the HAAS's machines we needed all 6.

Guest CNC Apps Guy 1

Oh, I'd say dump it. I'd rather have CNC developing more toolpath apps/CAD stuff for the software than something as benign as Communication. There's a handful of FREE apps out there that will accomplish this very same task. Time to put this baby to rest. biggrin.gif
