  1. I had the same issue and ended up running mastercam launcher and disabled solids, created a shortcut and that took care of it here. So i have two shortcuts one with solids enabled and one without.
  2. Yeah thanks guys. This was the first time I have had a problem.
  3. I had this happen Yesterday and was going to post this. I was trying to create a slot saw. All I did was change the diameter of another one in my library and could get it to save. Then I created one from scratch and it would not save either. Useing X5 MU1
  4. Blue cube green checkmark in it.
  5. Are you clicking on the activate solid button in the general selection ribbon bar?
  6. I create a point away and above the part and use toolpaths point and select the point. Do it as the first operation and last.
  7. Sorry I cant remember exactly what the error was. Just that a blue screen popped up and said something was missing. Thats all it would do.
  8. Yes one of the computors in the office kept getting "the blue screen of death" on startup. So what we did at that point is change the boot sequence to look for the usb external drive before the main hard drive. It booted fine then did a restore. Then switched the boot sequence back to the main hard drive before the usb drive. It was just like nothing ever happened after that.
  9. Yes it formats the external just like your hard-drive and clones it. Yeah you do need a seperate external drive for each computor.
  10. One other note (sorry I should have mentioned this sooner)is that it will reformat your external drive upon initial set up. So you actually need to back up what's on it before you start. What I did is move my mcam files back on the C-drive (if you have room) and then Install software.
  11. Actually I got the cd through Amazon. It was a little cheaper that way. Also you can use on more then one computor.
  12. After initial backup it will only copy changes made. Like new mcam files. Any new software installed. I have it set to scan once a day.
  13. I use Bounce Back Ultimate It turns your back up drive to a bootable drive. It clones your entire C drive. Works well.
  14. Check out this old thread See if this helps.
  15. It is definitaly related Chris. Stock to leave on walls in Contour is a big one for me. I always make sure to hit the blue plus now, after a few issues with values not sticking.
  16. Actually I put a /nos in the desktop shortcut to disable solids, and that solved the problem for me.
  17. Ahhh I installed MU1 and the problem went away. These were files that were saved with X4MU1 to a backup drive. Then had to reinstall mastercam and tried moveing them without MU1. Seems odd to me
  18. I think this has been covered before. Every time i go to move an mcx file it asks to insert disk to install mastercam. I cant remember what the fix is for this. Any help would be great
  19. quote: it should be tabbed browsing of files I was thinking the same thing. Instead of opening multiple sessions.
  20. What about using xy stock to leave instead of offsetting the contour..Would that work for you?
  21. Im not using X4 yet but in X3 their is a Direction tab you can activate to select a line that you would draw in for plunge and retract to avoid gouges.
  22. quote: I always set a hard limit, Same size as my RAM. I have always done this too. What is the best way for a 32 bit XP pro with 3gb of ram?
  23. quote: Mark- yeah, last time I turned the filter off but the finish wasn't as good. I might have to do that again. I would leave the filter on just uncheck those two boxes.
  24. Haveing create arcs in the XZ and YZ plane checked in the toolpath filter will do that. Some machines dont handle arcs very well in those planes.
