  1. Unless you have a really old machine v8 or v9 is a no go now neither version can see the old printer port hasp or usb hasp on a modern computer V8 and V9 will still run on a nethasp though. The archives at work have thousands of V9 files, some quite complex. For years you had to open them in ascending versions to run them in the X versions or early MC202* releases as the solids would blow up However, I recently opened an old V9 file in MC2023 and it came in perfectly which was quite a shock
  2. We're beating a dead horse here This thread was started in March 2002, almost 23 years ago MC-8 was released in 1998... so we're talking about 25 year old software... that is a millennium in software years
  3. Depending on the Unified toolpath you are using, this setting may or may not be available Cut Pattern/Advanced Options/Method by default it is set to approximate try changing it to "Exact" The Min/Max point distribution settings on the same page can help to, but the posted NC files can get pretty big
  4. I believe you can tell it to trim inside or outside your circle or you may have to get creative and draw a rectangle above the part then define the bottom of it as the stock boundary of your part
  5. Create a plane looking down the C.L of the part draw a circle the diameter of the part and use it with the Trim toolpath this may work, it may not
  6. It is very generous of you to make these available Thank You!!! I've purchased some of your tutorials over the years, but In House has really stepped up it's game with this I'm looking forward to spending some time with the Mulitiaxis class The files are downloading OK now
  7. and you'll probably have to hold the operator's hand the for the first couple of programs if you are not used to dynamic roughing on a machine capable of very fast feed motion F1000 or F2000 back feed motion can be terrifying
  8. Assuming your hard drive is still functioning properly, I would clone your old hard drive to the new hard drive then install it in your machine Done properly, you'll never know anything has changed I use an old copy of Acronis to do this.
  9. Check the Rules setting in the Planes manager See the 2 green arrows icon in the Planes Manager
  10. If you can get it to run properly in Verify, save your Verify session as an STL file and use that to create your stock model You lose associativity with the toolpaths that define the stock model doing it this way, but you get a much more stable Mastecam file
  11. And this has to be one of the very first
  12. I just noticed that this thread is one of the oldest on eMC
  13. Your Mastercam dealer is the place to go with this request
  14. I'm pretty sure either Mastercam backplot or Verify would have shown this error. I have never had a crash that wasn't apparent in Mastercam had I not been in a hurry and taken the time to look more closely Actually, I'm surprised the post didn't scream bloody murder, give an axis over travel alarm, and refuse to post the offending toolpath. I know the 5X posts I buy from Postability would have stopped posting at the bad toolpath
  15. That is typically a yell you get when running Technology Preview or Beta versions They turn it off for production versions of Mastercam. I've never seen that in a production version of Mastercam
  16. If this is a laptop, it should be plugged in and the Power setting should be set to max Under default laptop power settings, the CPU is throttled back to save battery power
  17. Is one minute the time it takes to physically change the tool or does that include lasering the tool to validate tool length offset, diameter and tool nose radius
  18. This can be caused by many things including the good old video card excuse. However, most of the times when I have trouble like this it's my fault 2 big causes of this for me are Section Views and the " only display associative entities" in the Toolpath Manager. I cause this problem using Viewsheets as well, inadvertently turning Levels off or on when I shouldn't It might be worthwhile to review the Viewsheet settings page. They add new field on that page periodically There are a few in there that I have no idea what they do, like "Display Mode" In my case I have that turned off, and I have no idea what it does.. Help is no help.
  19. This is your machine GENOS M460V-5AX | 5-Axis Vertical Machining Center | VMC (okuma.com) or it's big brother.. Video | MU-6300V-L 5-Axis Machining Center | Okuma
  20. What are you going to be building ? Do you require multiaxis capabilities or is 3X enough for now What work envelope is required? I'm with JP for the most part, I love Okumas but an Okuma sized machine payment and a couple of slow months can be a bullet in the head for a start up.
  21. yes I was trying to fix that toolpath in 2022 and feeling really stupid I did not realize that it was new to 2023
  22. I ran the MC2023 version of this file through our Postability Haas V6 - TR210 machine sim and it ran perfectly If you didn't go crazy on the feed rates this toolpath would run very well on this machine
  23. Yes... MC2023 does a really nice job of this
