  1. Makino has had hale machining for decades and it works extremely well for o-ring type applications. It is not limited to just circles however, it can "scrape" out any 2D contour. I believe Mazak has recently introduced this ability although under a different name. http://s260.photobucket.com/albums/ii37/davitcnc/?action=view¤t=MVI_3598.mp4
  2. I just ordered some custom inserts form Madill Carbide, 2-3 Days for delivery. Madill Carbide
  3. Does anyone have a #3 top notch style insert model they would be willing to part with? I don't care about the details such as groove width, I'm making a blank.
  4. I'm looking for a shop to quote a few splines on a shaft. The closer to Cincinnati the better but it really doesn't matter. Any suggestions?
  5. Parameter 1241 is for the 2nd reference position, 1242 is for the 3rd. reference position. You could set the 3rd. position and use G30 P3 in your code, leaving the 2nd position in case you ever fix the tool changer. NOTE: you must power down after setting these parameters for them to become active.
  6. Wes, I put it in the unspecified_uploads folder, it's named Fanuc O series Lathe Parameter Manual
  7. I have the parameter manual in PDF if you would like I can put it on the ftp site.
  8. Yes it will work on a 16i, but I think you have to change the "L" variable from "L52" to "L50". I'm not sure about sending it over the dataserver to the pc.
  9. The volume of 2" x 4' x 8' is just a tad over 151 litres x $30.00 per litre = $4530.00
  10. Yes the control reads the percent signs as start and end of file, but will use the O number to separate the programs. 11. I just checked a session of X5 that has been open for over 12 hours and I'm not seeing any delay.
  12. Ok so it seems "Perpendicular Entry" is the key, with it set, I get good code regardless of "Start at Center" setting or type of geometry selected. Thanks for the tips. IMO this now needs a "fix"
  13. This came up today during an X5 Rollout so I tried to reproduce it and I also get the same (BAD) results using arcs center points or just points.
  14. I'm with Chippy on this one...How about 1 sticky with all the other stickies inside of it, is that possible?
  15. A rollout is not the same as a release. There are rollouts all over the country to introduce customers to the new version, some will be before the release and others after the release.
  16. Setco is also an MC user and on this forum...where ya at Cappy?
  17. 1-(888)-Makino1 (625-4661) Makino Parts Online
  18. I just got a few items from iMastercamstore.com I was the very first to place an order and they gave me the travel mug as a thank you.
  19. If it is just for one part use a few manual entries and put in the g code to send it where you want.
  20. Chris if I recall it was around $1100, which is about the same as a complete set of manuals for a single machine
  21. Guys if you have Fanuc controlled machines get the Fanuc idocs DVD, I bought it 2 yrs ago and it has saved me many hours & countless headaches. This article is old but it gives you an idea of what is on the DVD. Fanuc i docs
