  1. Thanks for the idea's but no dice no transformed or ghosted ops changing nci did not work either scratching meh head on this one
  2. I feel your pain. I am working on a 50 meg file multi axis major stitching posted is a15 meg file. hr. verify and 15 minutes to post 2.2 gig machine with a quadro 600. argh talk about stepping over $100 to save $1
  3. I am having a problem in X9 with my tool length offset not posting correctly in my file. I have double triple checked that I have the correct value in my mastercam file. what is really weird is I have several ops that I have put a value of 19 in the tool length field and some ops are 9 and some are 19. One operation actually changes mid cycle, it is a simple contour operation it makes multiple passes first pass calls out offset 9 then the rest of passes are using offset 19. I have seen similar hiccup with mastercam but usually re selecting the tool and or regen op has fixed it. not the case in this file. this is happening in all my ops in two different files. any one ever seen this????? Currently using McamX9. TIA
  4. I only have experience with fadal, fanuc, haas, fagor, yasnac, okuma osp and a few off the wall ones not even worth mentioning. I really like the power and versatility okuma osp brings to the table even tho i have hardly touched its full capability. Fanuc has always been very good as well. I believe those two mentioned have their own brand servo's too and that brings some serious benefits. fadal and haas did a great job of user friendly.
  5. I would check into support, other users etc. also check out there licensing model very carefully. it was a deal breaker for us when I last checked it out but?? product itself looked very capable . Doug
  6. Oh that was painfull 25 minutes, do I get the turtle award lol X9 xeon e5-2620 2ghz 64 bit 16 gig ram quadro 600
  7. I second the Haas thought but have little to no experience with others. We have a DMI (aka DMS) but reliability is in question as well as the history of this machine. it has had a rough life so ?? don't know you location or budget but support is a huge consideration
  8. there is some really cool laser tracker options out, usually done by an outside service if you want to really get serious. otherwise its a tooling ball and indicator as said.
  9. As many know, was forced to look for a new job this year, company I was working for was on an older version. lack of experience with the latest cost me some serious opportunity. jus sayin.. it has many ways of bighting you in the behind. but then again there is a cost.
  10. I have done this but with manual connect disconnect venture system with tank inside tombstone. yes they did eventually hit station ready with hose hooked up and also tried running one that had sat loaded for a weekend (slow leak netted little or no vacuum left). some kind of load unload cuppler might be part of the solution?
  11. went with hangsterfers, but their are plenty of good coolants out there and we are cutting mostly alum. coolant for pvc I wouldn't have a clue as to the best and or what that does to coolant.
  12. hope they didn't clean (not) like my guys did. all residue- bacteria must be out of there or your just starting the science project over again with a head start to grow stuff
  13. Yep its a special kind of control (a little quiky) but ours gobbles up large code like it never happened. gotta love that.
  14. sorry modal, is in effect until canceled or over ridden by another code. in this case g54 etc or g92. I am unsure about behavior of g28 on this control. just getting my feet wet too.
  15. Yes G53 puts it in machine coordinates and is model.
  16. not sure if this relates to your flavor of control but we have had issues with our dv and found removing comments at beginning helped reduce errors. ???
  17. my vote would be matsuura or okuma. not in any order just base it on local service??
  18. I do a lot of flat pattern nesting in various thickness (.06 to .25). a lot of times it works to leave .01 by .5 tabs but as Rekd stated it really depends on a lot of other things. the .25 I cut aggressive until part off then finness it a bit to make sure the part does not fly before its time (aerospace work).
  19. block skip comes to mind on this application. very cool if you have multiple block skip options? idk
  20. I have an amcrest system at our house ? seams to be holding up to out door weather so far but no idea of a machine environment... amazon for $250 would watch inside and out of 4 machines (8 channels 8 cameras) it came with 4 cameras.
  21. yes boring is prob best practice in this with positive approach. all errors add up and all machines have some to on extent of another. tough order and any possibility of error eliminated and or mitigated will help you accomplish the task. inspector needs a flogging or education at the very least.????
  22. does anyone have a screen shot of the tool list from x+ they could share. nothing fancy or too long, I just want to introduce the product to a company for consideration thanks Doug
  23. a feature like this could really be very good in the aerospace industry that supply's other native data and expects a verify of what you are working with. it could be $$$ in setting a standard. i have had no problem with non native data in mcam sept for operator error on either end. but to have a proven check would be a great tool.. Doug
  24. Am a fan of Techni-Grip myself, but other good options have been mentioned. hopefully whatever you choose will work for other following jobs, the ROI will be realized pretty fast. Doug
