  1. Anyone program one of these guys, or know anything about them? Got a duel wheel unit with Seimens control. Medical application. Programmed now with UG. If anyone does turbine blades or the like check out the companies sight.
  2. Running same machine with x6, post from machine tool dealer. Works fine. Not using Solidworks 4 mcam however.
  3. If 3 + 2 your toolplane/wcs should work. If full 5th everyone needs to be top top top.
  4. Philosophically speaking: I think a big difficulty in transitioning to this type of system (using the model with all-encompassing limited gd&t inspection), is that everyone learns the trade in a manual shop cranking handles. You usually need the classic highly dimensioned print to machine that way. That's how we've been brought up, that's how our world was defined. So it's a huge paradigm shift to go MBD. I think some nice classes or formal-ish training would be really beneficial in breaking through the barriers and figuring out how to think this way. It's such a big leap for alot of people...from my observations and personally. m2c ok going back to the RNC to learn how I'm gonna save all this ca$h on my taxes...and then of course I'll buy gold bullion and hide it under my mattress, to really stimulate my local economy
  5. dncing off usb or ethernet on Haas is very sketchy. Dropped characters and the like. I'd just set up ole' reliable: cheap pc and rs-232.
  6. CNC apps guy will chime in shortly. He's your Robodrill master, bar-none.
  7. Thanks gcode. I was thinking of you when I posted this actually. I'm trying to convince my customer we shouldn't limit his project to local area, if need be. Maybe a possibility.
  8. Well, BIG is very relative. Looking for a job shop in Oregon that can turn an 80" dia. od and profile on id.
  9. Hey guys make sure you put your bitchin' results in the database. It could use some fresh entries Those having problems- put mastercam back in the box, get a refund, and program at the control.
  10. You running R's? Try the same sequence in IJK's? Just a random though and another straw to grasp at (However that would be more data for the control, but g5.1 should be fine I suppose....:/)
  11. With all the multi axis machines these days, of course we will be using the same offset for different views. Can we please have the option to turn the warning off!! Everyone who agrees send this in as an enhancement request. The more requests the higher up the list it goes.
  12. That should be pretty straightforward. Active reports is pretty easy once you get the hang of it. Tutorial takes a little while, but well worth it.
  13. just use mazatrol at the control then.
  14. What machine is it? If you've got main, sub, c and y and want it all to work there will undoubtedly be post work involved. No offense, but getting a sophisticated and expensive machine like that, spending a few grand for maintenance and a good post is pittance. Probably the cost of one live tooling station. Add to that down time you're already incurring from software issues.... It's like getting a corvette but buying old used tires for it. Seriously, give Mcam a call just to know what you will be looking at.
  15. Oh sorry my first post was rather obtuse :/ It started life as a Generic Fanuc 4x Mill. Yes it has 'tooltable$' set to 3. and here is pwrtt$ pwrtt$ #Pre-read NCI file if tool_info > 1 & t$ > 0 & gcode$ <> 1003, ptooltable Thanks Colin (and James). Last I checked was about a year ago. I'll see if I can find a machine with Chrome on it tomorrow. It's funny I have it set to freeze panes, and in firefox it does it fine for me (with full permissions), but not general viewers.
  16. I cannot get it to funtion. It's stuck in selection 2. tool_info : 3 #Output tooltable information? #0 = Off - Do not output any tool comments or tooltable #1 = Tool comments only #2 = Tooltable in header - no tool comments at T/C #3 = Tooltable in header - with tool comments at T/C
  17. For example if you want to work off a network, so all programmers use the same setup sheets (main and sub reports). With the config path there, your just pointing mastercam where to go for a main report. Sure it will find the main..and execute active reports. THEN ar starts looking for it's subreports and the wheels come off the bus. What I'm after is how you get active reports to look other places for it's sub-reports. This post explains my predicament well. I'm trolling crystal reports forums too. In this tutorial, at the 1:20 thru 2:00 a sub is being inserted, but notice he gives it the full data path. A little more robust version there. Looks like we have a dinosaur with ar.
  18. going once, going twice...anyone? or off to cnc.
  19. yes, it does. hmmm Thad your on X2...if I recall, there have been some significant improvements with fbm/fbd since then.... I honestly can't remember the last time I went into that flaming dumpster.
  20. Years back I worked with it a bit, and it is very powerful. I'd say well worth the time learning if it fits your shop's work. That said, I'll look around for some training materials. Where you been Thad? (or have I just missed your posts)
  21. In other words, I feel like this is where I'd give it more of a data path to my different folder.??
  22. This is my main report, and I've got my sub reports in a different folder. I need to point the main to look at the sub in said new folder.
  23. I've made a new folder for a new setup sheet, and moved my new rpx's into it, in an attempt to quarantine and keep thing organized. . How do I point the main report to look in that new folder for the subs reports now?
