  1. you need to set that in the config.
  2. try using wear on cutter comp if your not.
  3. you could drip feed the prog through the rs232. all my haas machines use floppy drives and i use the dnc that way. does this happen when you start the program or some where in the prog.
  4. valenite center dex comes to mind, its old tech but still gets it done. i think the 3/4 has through coolant. as for the depth do it in steps if you cant do it all at once.
  5. we used to see all kinds of stuff in the steel castings from mexico 15 yrs ago. ball bearings and all the stuff mentioned. thats when i learned about insert drills compared to hss. and yes run the inserts dry for best life.
  6. were using the newest mill 1-10 with real good luck. we also use the mill 1-18 with good luck. are you using the newest k30 grade.
  7. is your retract absolute or incremental.sounds like its absolute.
  8. i would say to check your control def or machine def to see what your defaults are set at. look in tolerances.
  9. when changing the arcs did they possibly move in a 3d way creating a prob with planes.
  10. its a G73 cycle and the control setting works on any program written at the machine or from a cam system.
  11. you could allways use G53 and the machine grid.
  12. you need to do it like a backup in windows or transfer it to a flash card.
  13. are you getting any G18/G19 codes while in G19.
  14. do you have the coolant turned on in your tools. you might need to check your machine def for this.
  15. did you mean copper tungsten. what percentage of tungsten. i would say yes for coolant and for s/f need more info.

  18. usually its used to deal with fixtures not being exactly where there programmed. you can pick up the 0,0 on the fixture and tell it this number and the post will compensate for the difference. hth
  19. does anyone know if you can use solidworks 2010 and do a save as back to a sldprt 2009 file.
  20. have you logged off and rebooted, also clean out the temp files. hth
  21. you can use taper walls to help with that.
  22. well did some digging today, found someone had turned off all the masking check boxes in chaining in the configuration. I turned back on entity and open and closed chains and everything works. hope this helps others. any other comments chime in.

  24. boy i just love it when everybody says there isnt a prob. when i do this it wont even pick anything in the window after i select the start point. 2d or 3d really doesnt matter.cutter comp doesnt matter. it never gets far enough to finish so the window comes up to do everything else. as for x4mu1 i cant get it as we droped maintence this year. oh and im not the only one in our company that has this prob.x2 was the last time it worked for me.
