  1. With that budget, you will not get what you need.
  2. To bad your settings can not transfer to new versions of Mastercam.
  3. Made some mold inserts out of A2. It is very stable will grow about .0002 per inch. Od grows and ID shrinks. One toolmaker I work with knew the material so well. As long as it was not a shut off. He would finish all features before heat treat. When that inserts would come back. He would shine them up with some 600 grit paper and install them.
  4. What is your budget including tooling?
  5. Spend a little more and get the most popular machine tool builder in North America.
  6. Down load went fine. Remembered to uninstalled.
  7. Mazatrol is very user Friendly for make washers. NO surfacing and nothing out of the Box. It is great for turn and simple milling. I would strongly advise Makino with a CAM system. That has an environment for verifying.
  8. We already have a J-300. That is why we stayed with Mazak. I hope it will be an easy transfer. The I-300 has the same foot print Just bigger spindle.
  9. Riggers just got done gluing down an new I-200 ST. Check out the pics. New Machine Days are awesome.
  10. Watch for chipping out. Otherwise just rough and finish
  11. http://www.miteebite.com/products/vacmagic_vm100_i.html Check them out. I have never used a vacuum chuck, but they look cool.
  12. Download worked great now I can look at mazatrol programs.
  13. I have a project for 3 pieces out of 4140 3 inch thick. Plan on leaving .05 per side and finish outside of part that is in clearance. I will let you all know the results.
  14. Check out Mori Vrs. Mazak in the Industrial forum. There is some good stuff there.
  15. I had a tread on this back in September.
  16. We have a J-300 and getting a I-200. I looked at Mori and Okuma. I think Okuma has a solid machine and I really like Mori for the ball-screw chillers. Mazak service needs major improvements.
  17. I have used them to drill, pocket out and chamfer a thru pocket in Aluminum. Worked awesome.
  18. I have seen it in Aluminum during broaching.
  19. I use G76 on the Makino, or Feed in and out G85 for tool pressure.
