  1. Cool Beans and where is your avatar. Crazy Millman
  2. Is this a indexer that is an add on wit ha seprtate controller by chance. If it is then you may have to do what I did at one place and that is play the wait code game. I made soem rool cams on a machine with a seprate controller not fun. If the machine is a indexer instead of a full 4th axis this could also be why yuo can get the sync you are looking for. If not then look through what was said and see if by doing what was said you can get the z axis to sync with the A axis I think that will be your best bet verse trying to go the other route. Good luck let us know what you coem up with. Crazy Millman
  3. I would think you would do it the same way I did it on any lathe you write a single pass like a finish operation. I defined the tool as a regular tool then gave it the correct offset once it was set for the dia and went from there. I would use the face as my z0 for the tool then I would make a dia bigger ands make that my teach dia for the tool. I would then make a chain to come up to the part in z axis big then down in x axis till enganged inot the Dia to make the knurl the back off in x to clerance Dia then IU would do the retract. I would cutter my tool offset to control how much pressure for the knurl. I was always so a step knurl in X aaxis doing a back in forth in Z if I did not have a CNC lathe wit hthe xxxx needed to knurl. I would also look at corenr use style knurlers or convex style so you keep the amount of contacted surface down. Good Luck Crazy Millman
  4. Solids Rocks and the only way to go for the Money!!!!!!!!!! Crazy Millman
  5. Look like the Same thing plast put up not to long ago. Crazy Millman
  6. Well yes it is faster then G-gode programming but if using mastercam they are about a tie. If planing on doing complex 3d stuff the Mastercam will smoke it anyday of the week stuff that would take me 40 hours to figure out to program in Mazatraol I can do in about 4 in Mastercam. Crazy Millman
  7. Have you tried to reinstall the moldplus and have you tried to reinstall the Mastercam with the repair function upon install that might help if not contact you local dealer and see if they can get you the link to a fresh download of that version of Moldplus we have V( and it all works fine here with no problems but not V8 so sorry I cant be more help. Crazy Millman
  8. We have been using mirror on 3d soild models and having good reults. To be honest have not even paid attention to direction next part we do I will. Crazy Millman [ 10-22-2003, 07:37 PM: Message edited by: Millman^Crazy ]
  9. Use the 5ax drill then use lines as the control paying attention the direction the arrow then you can go from there. I found it easy to go into #D cplane and create line betewwn the soild egde d onot have have arc there matercam will ntoice the cneter of an edge if you are close to it. The whole soild will lit u pthat is ok then creat point center then conttect the dots. I did a part with over 300 holes on a tube that where all different and used 5axdrill and it worked fine. You can use all 5th axis toolpaths on a 4th axis just make sure you check the 4axis box in the selceted toolpath. If you can send the fiel to Jay I am 100% sure he can point you in the right direction. Crazy Millman
  10. Welcome back sounds like you had a good time. Crazy Millman
  11. Aslong at the Police in here don't come back and complain when people do give the free people a hard time. Crazy Millman
  12. Glad you like the Murlin I will do you another one when I get the time that was just throw together real quick. Crazy Millman
  13. Well guess this was useless oh well. Crazy Millman
  14. Does your post use the mi vaules to do this if you have the post defaulting this and then do not have the misc button checked it could be doing this. If you are programing your parts to Z0 on bottom of the part then you could possible not have enough cleracne if you have incremental retract with a samll amount this could be doing that. It could be a host of different probelm pu tthe file up on the FTP and we will take a crack at it. Crazy Millman
  15. Well if the machine support sub then you could do an incremental shift in dia per ever deoth of cut to create the same effect. Crazy Millman You would want to create you side view shwing the depth you think you would want ot take for a step the figure the distance in radius for your shift then do a g91 loop for the total dpeth needed for the ball tool to create this effect. If doing wit ha flat tool would need a great amount fo steps to get a good finish is all but very possible with about 10 lines of code.
  16. +1 on Rekd it does not have all the cool things that Autocad or them have but if you go here you can get this toy for drafting: Little Goodies gives you geomertic capabilites at no charge. Crazy Millman
  17. Well just finished a master model out of Acrlyic for a prototpye shower head had over 1986 surfaces. It took a total of 60 hours of run time. It had to be optically clear when all said and done. I ended up wit habout 150 mb of toolpaths. We are also doing t omaster mdoles for antoehr prototype our of ABS and soem other Master Models out of ABS as ideas of what injected molded parts would look like about 16 x 14 x .420 thick with about 85% material removable. I am also working on a Aluminum Casting Job that is Rela Pain in the But and trying to get 2 new machine bought at this time. Crazy Millman [ 10-22-2003, 04:39 PM: Message edited by: Millman^Crazy ]
  18. MAY^DAY did those ops have a red lock if so then no matter what you did til you unlocked it would have stayed that way. There is alos a chook called HSM from Cimoc that your dealer can get you inforamtion on that is suppose to kick but. It is suppose to reduce cal times also. +1 Rekd, Airborne, Fred they have you going in the right direction. Crazy Millman
  19. I have not been on here near as long as you or helped as many but say thanks for the help you give and all you do. Then watch him not post for a week lol. Crazy Millman

  22. Love it when you dotn know if they got helped out or not. I think it was for a freaking space ship. I need to get that orbiting motor to work right anyone got an idea how to do that. Crazy Millman
  23. Thad do you use the geomenty chain box on the operation manger page then right click in the chain manger and do rechain single for 2d toolpaths. I looked and well didn't see what you were talking about. I will look again at wrok but was thinking of that as a thought I hope it helps if not keep this one going till we help you. Crazy Millman
  24. Gcode i have seen stragne thing happed runnign utlites like that and I have always tried to stay away from anything that effect placement and direction of files on my computer. I have also found that a virus program will soetime keep your windows from begin able ot allow thing like to be done seems strange but like a virus block check or soemthing. Crazy millman
  25. Well Jeff this taken from the Doc file in the chook folder about this chook. quote: Creates points at the center of all full circles (arcs with a sweep of 360 degrees) that match the main color. Each point is created at the same depth as the corresponding circle. So I would think not but I am thinkign Brain, Mick, Roger, Rekd, or one of the other VB guys might could come up with a script to do what you want if you specify what you are looking to do.
