  1. That is awesome. I can't wait to give it a go!
  2. Thanks David. That is kind of a convoluted way of accomplishing something that was very simple, previously.
  3. I can't get 2022 to copy a tool from the Part frame to the library. Is this no longer allowed, or is there a new way to do it?
  4. Could you create the saw as a custom tool with the nut as part of the saw?
  5. Well that was a lot simpler than I expected. Sometimes I can't believe I've put something off for so long, just because I didn't have time to mess with it once, then just let it become a habit.
  6. Is this on Mazaks? On ours we use both G5 P2 & G61.1 P# (P1 - P20). often simultaneously.
  7. I used to change my misc integers & reals in my post before CNC changed that section to the XML format. Since that time I've set them in each operation as needed, it was a quick fix that I got used to. But I have a couple of mrs that I want to permanently set to new defaults, on one of our machines. What is the procedure to make these changes now? Do I somehow change the settings thru the CD?
  8. Bummer, tuning G61.1 is a breeze on the Smooth X.
  9. I think Colin was just suggesting you remove the history of each of the solids, not delete the actual solids.
  10. No, on the View tab, turn on "Groups". Delete those groups.
  11. Congratulations and best wishes Aaron. And thank you, so very much, for help all of your and guidance thru the years.!
  12. Yes, we have 3 Mazaks, I have changed the parameters to have them all default to G64. My posts all have misc value functions that allow us to set the G61.1 settings. Do any of your Mazaks have the Smooth X controller?
  13. I knew that they were one of the earliest implementors of g code in industrial NC equipment. But I thought I remembered that the old EIA had standardized it in the '60s. I assumed that the groups, at least, were standardized. Maybe Fanuc just matched them to the #4000 sys variables. I'm getting old and my memory doesn't work as well as it once did (reference the siggy) Thanks James
  14. I have found conflicting info on the g-code group number for G50.1 & G51.1. Some sites call them as group 18 & some others call them as group 22. Is there a standard someone could point me to?
  15. That looks ok, but I always right-click & create a new combo, then rename it and delete the default.
  16. G61 is exact cutting mode; G64 cancels exact cutting mode, essentially allowing the control to make use of the various parameters that are set for smoothing. G61 forces the machine to come to a complete stop, at every point programmed, before beginning the next move. This often creates chatter & finish problems and is why a lot of shops run in G64.
  17. Most controls have issues with cc starting on an arc.
  18. Okay, that works. But in this video @Chally72 hovers over auto cursor points and the tool snaps into place. I can move the tool around, but it doesn't snap to any points.
  19. That's what I tried but it didn't seem to work. I'll try again tomorrow
  20. How do I select which tool is displayed?
