  1. Humm, You will need some post work. Do you think your Mastercam dealer can help you on this? It would be worth the $$$
  2. Ho! I don't think they have that option. It's a old 5 axis Maho cnc and I think this kind of control was bought by Heidenhain a couple of years ago. Thank's to Toolfab and Jay
  3. Luc, Where are you from? Welcome to the forum!
  4. Right now, I can store programs in the memory. So the communication is working well (same settings as you). If you have a program that have something like 50000 lines, can we run the program from the computer and not from the control? This is normaly called "drip feed". Thank's
  5. If you go in the post, search for usecanpeck and set it to no. You'll have longhand codes.
  6. Thank's for the reply If you have a very big file, what do you do? Since we don't have a lot of space on the memory, I don't want to store this program on the memory. So I want to do DNC.
  7. Anybody here have this kind of control? I try to figure out how to do drip feed code with this control (DNC). I've not see any tape mode on the control. Any help would be very appreciated. Thank's
  8. Tony, We have a customer that program his millstar with Mastercam. The post is very simple, you should ask your Mastercam dealer for this.
  9. DrewG, I would suggest to you to get the WCS tutorial. There's a sample of a tombstone application and I think it can help you.
  10. Try the Setdirs c-hook. It's exactly what you want.
  11. An other way would be to do your facing toolpath and reverse it. Worked fine for me.
  12. Andreas, Very nice C-hook! Here's quick question. What about lathe? Would it be a big job to do it for lathe, or mill/turn...? Thank's!!!
  13. MarkI, If you put your file on the ftp we could show how to use surf. project blend. It's a very good toolpath...
  14. BUCKET In V9.1 (soon to be released...) you'll have all what you wait for.
  15. You should take a look at NC-Base from Cimco. I think this is the product you're searching for.
  16. And to select your c-plane, you can also go in the WCS manager, right-click on the view and set current c-plane.
  17. First, I would look at the mazak parameters. Be sure that param F92 bit 7 is set to 0 (so that the control use the tooldata for EIA programs) In the tooldata, in the lower-right corner, you've: act. dia. comp. (error:this is not the dia but the radius). If you use wear comp in Mastercam, you should set it to zero and comp +/- to adjust your comp. If you use comp in control, you should enter the radius of your tool. This is for fusion controls... don't know which control you have. Hope it help
  18. jeff, Correct me if I'm wrong, but you use Mpmaster... it's a milling post. For your lathe, I would better use Mplfan.
  19. Felix, If you've unrolled your geometry (you've probably a ton of small lines.A quick fix would be to create a spline from the unrolled geometry. Create--Spline--Curves--Chain the entities and use it for your toolpath. It can reduce the lenght of your program. And...Merry Christmas!
  20. Try a bigger ratio ei: 3:1 if you set cut tolerance to .001, set the filter tolerance to .003 Are you sure it's a arc? Sometime, splines are'nt perfect, but the filter should solve it.
  21. We've a customer that use Mastercam for 5 axis use. They've been approached by UG. The customer asked the UG demo man to prove him that he can do more than Mastercam. He was not able. So they upgraded to V9 and get 3 days of special training on 5 axis.
  22. For my part, I use smooth. Combined with the tangential setting, it is very smooth on the machine.
  23. Whamac, Not sure if it work in level-1 but try this: toolpath--nextmenu--project. You can project a 2D toolpath on a sphere, cylinder... You have to do you 2D toolpath first then post the NCI so you can use it in the project toolpath.
  24. And if you have the solid option... you can try solid--next menu--from surfaces (It stitch the surfaces to create a solid...)
