  1. Thad, Try entering your offset value and locking the field befor you indicate offset direction. I think you will find that now the Z will be same as original entity. (strange but true) We are in agreement that an enhancment is in order so that when in 3D, the new line would always be at depth of original.
  2. you need a dwell command after the M11 and M10. If notm your bar puller will take off before the chuck has closed. Also, you may find out that on the Haas, you will get a "Chuck open" Error if you run this in single block.
  3. If you merge them all into a sngle file on your pc, and remove the % from between the programs, I think it will load them correctly, starting a new program everytime it reads the letter "O" for program number.
  4. quote: What I'm trying to get here is one sub per tool and not several subs as it's set up now so ideally I'd like to see "by tool number" added, but it looks like I might be the only one for it... You are not the only one.
  5. While we are on the subject of "Slot Mill". What does it do that you can not do with "Contour"?
  6. Victor, Use contour (not slot mill). Remember that contour has a ramp option if you do not want to plunge in Z. Also. If slot is same size as tool, do not chain all the way around. Only pick one slie of slot.
  7. set windows to NOT "hide file extensions for known file types" This will fix the problem
  8. I have seen this covered before and I think there is a setting in the control def that causes this. Check the error mesg options.
  9. But reading in assembly files is higer on the list.
  10. It would be great if we could deal with cordinate systems from solidworks in the same method we now deal with multiple configuratios. Give the option to select during import.
  11. yes. create your cylinder as a surface, and then use "Surface -> Finish -> Project" as your toolpath. No need to create the NCI file.
  12. Check the setting in the control definition. To fix it, load the control definition in the CD Manager and go to the Mill/Lath/Router - Machine Cycles page and change the value shown below from 51 to 100. "Long code option" "Percent of subsequent peck:"
  13. consider modifiying your post so that the H and D values always take thier lead from the tool number (and not from the values set in Mastercam). For example: tlngno = t tloffno = t
  14. Post the file is V9 and X, and compare the NC files. (Use the file compare feature in Cimco Edit). If the NC files are same then the problem is not post related.
  15. It is in the "Control Definition"
  16. Murlin, This may be caused by a rounding error in your post. If you will send me an email, I will reply with updated post and we can compare results.
  17. Consider using the "Head #" as the trigger. This is in the tool definition and once the tool is defined, you would not need to remember to set anything else. Simply pick the tool defined as heavy. I think that the post variable for this is "lstation"
  18. To cut back and forth without lifting, use "Contour / Ramp / Plunge"
  19. my understanding is that any post can be used to output these vectors, BUT that the vetors are only available from the "Multiaxis" toolpaths.
  20. SolidWorks files can be opened in Mastercam without using SWX Direct. Select: File, Converters, Parasolid, Read. Select SolidWorks as the file type and then open the SolidWorks part file.
  21. _________________________________________ 1. Choose Main Menu, Toolpaths, Next menu, Project, Sphere. ______________________________________ I want to point out that this method is outdated, and has been replaced by "Surface", "Finish", "Project". This is much simpler and more powerful.
  22. If you are only needing to simulate the Gcode or make simple edits to it, do not forget that a copy of the Metacut Utilites is included with Mastercam and can be very useful for this.
  23. Instead of loading from the "List Program" menu, try loading from the "Edit" menu. Select "F1" and select the option to list the directory of the floppy and then select the file to load. This method supports any extension, and you do not have to remember what you named the file. You can pick it from a list. I am assuming you are loading from floppy.
  24. Concerning getting work from MFG Quote, it is my experiance that lots of contracts are put up for bid, but few are awarded. The salesman at mfg quote would not allow any trail period or evaluation period, and required a full 12 mount comitment before allow you to bid on anything and see if any work might be available for you. This seems like it would be a great service to a small shop that is looking for new customers. If the work was really there, I would expect that a 30 day trial to be available.
  25. The "surface finish project" toolpath includes the option to project a previously created operation (such as a 2D contour).
