My laptop went from 8:05 to 6:51 with MU1 update. So all benchmark times need to verify if MU1 is used or just throw them all out. Nice speed increase CNC!

I'm for now the temporary leader. MU1 offers a 25% improvement in toolpath generation speed. I went from 4.0 minutes to 3.0. Several of you should be in the high 2 minute area after installing MU1.

Ran the benchmark again, using X3 MU1. My computer is the same as the first try on 5-29-07. Then, the time and specs were:

In Vista 64. Are there tweaks for a Vista system? This is the first experience I have with Vista, and I tried it because the Passmark scores were higher than on XP64...Bogus, any Advice?

Sounds like your doing fine. Your kind of limited with a laptop and if your using Vista X64 just get as much RAM in it as you can. This is the type of situation where Vista ready boost might help.

Well need to go back to the start of this thread. There is a sample file we got to use for this test. Follow what it says and then post your time. I think it is time to start a new thread for X3.

Just switching to MU1 has taken me from 12 min, 34 sec. to 8 min, 53 sec.

Just installed MRU1. This benchmark is first thing I have tried on it:

 

Dell Optiplex (Desktop)GX745 running Intel Core2, [email protected], and 2Gb RAM. Quadro FX540 with latest drivers (Dated 11-08, by the way).

 

Time: 5 Min 25 Sec

 

I'm happy with that for no tweaks. Have Mastercam start as HIGH priority using a simple .bat file.

A benchmark for someone not surfacing is almost pointless.

 

2D toolpaths generate quickly, the processing time is really given over to 3D toolpaths.

X3 MU1 seems to be about 25% faster than any previous version. I'm guessing you'll get about a 4 minute + a few seconds on your new machine and MU1. If you run it in metric it won't compare to most forum members. The inch version is slower. Times for this have dropped so much that we need a larger benchmark file. It's approaching the point that only miliseconds will seperate most PC's.

With my new PC i have (X3Mu1): 5m 15sec

 

cost $1200 Tx included with widescreen 22" and printer (with rebate)

 

My test is performed with inches version of "HST-CORE-HORIZONTAL-RASTER.MCX"
