Still wondering , what bugs have been fixed on MU3?

The list is long. The only way you are gonna find out is to install it. So far for me it's been even more stable (and bug free) than MU2 was.

I don't know.. I've been lying about face mills for so long its the truth now

I'll give it a try and let you know.

 

There is absolutley no reason not to install

this MU... its a solid install.. completely effortless... and zero effect on the aftermarket

Tom, well I am not sure I agree. I notice a post where you and Ron talk about a drill clearance bug.

 

This is an issue that people not having problems with MU2 (or problems that are not a big issue for them) so why take the risk to get other issues.

 

That's why I feel a bug fix list is so important. Every user has different needs and being able to evaluate and make a good decision would be most benificial.

The tip clearnace bug was a biggie for me.

If you made your tools in X4 everything seemed to work OK.. but we bring in files from as far back as V8. With older tool libraries, tool tip

and tip comp could get real sketchy.

I agree. Try explaining to your boss why you had something that was working but you decided to try something that is essentially untested instead.

 

At least with a list you could make a somewhat educated decision.

In MU3 the engraving toolpath is not working for me.

In MU2 works.

What error message are you receiving when trying to run Engrave? Where is it failing? What OS are you running (32 or 64-bit as well)?

Now I´m running MCX4 MU3 in a 32 bit XP OS.

 

Last year I had to much problems with an Vista x64 and engraving that I decide to reinstall all in the XP 32 OS.

The display issues seem to be resolved, running x4 mu3 in windows 7 without any compatibility mode, desktop composition on, works much better.

Now I try to install MU3 in another PC (Win 7 - 32).

Here is working well.

I found a new bug with MU3 today. If you copy and paste an operation from one Machine Group to another, it inserts it between the Machine group name and the properties regardless of where the insertion arrow is. I have never seen this before.

I'm trying to machine a solid (stp) file, and when I go to chain a contour, the solid box is greyed out, so is the enable solids selection icon. Is it my file or the software?

 

Also, is it possible to open an igs file, save it as a stp file and be good to go?

sounds like your stp file came is as a surface

click the solid and hit F4 see what Analyze says
