Someone requested this functionality on the official Mastercam Forum. I'm not sure if it has gained any traction. I think that it would be great for aluminum.
Just to add to this -
You can use Modify feature with create body checked. It will fill the hole for you. If you put the newly created bodies (if you have more holes) on to another level, you can just blank the level when you're done with them.
That's interesting. I have a 27" main monitor and a 24" on the side.
The issue that I'm talking about is happening on the main monitor. I'll have to try dragging the window back and forth just to see if it makes a difference.
I've noticed this happening on a few windows. I've had a few project toolpath operations not allow me to scroll down far enough to pick the operation that I wanted to project. Yea, its frustrating. I've also had the operation that I wanted to project not even show up in the window until I restart Mastercam.
If the operation in the window but not visible, I can usually get it down to that operation by using the down arrow key on the keyboard.
When Ellison was handling Mori out here in our neck of the woods the service was outstanding. Since they dropped Ellison and went direct they've been nothing but a PITA to work with. I've heard rumor that we'll never see another Mori in our shop because of it.
Can't agree with this more.
It may be that I just haven't figured out how this is supposed to work yet, but every time I click on a point in that window and try to delete it, it never deletes the point I selected. It deletes the first point in the column. I've had a couple of "want to throw the monitor through a window" days just because of that.
If you're just trying to get it to clean the corners, rather than using "all previous operations", set it to "roughing tool diameter" and set the diameter of the roughing tool a little over .5 to compensate for your "min toolpath radius" used in your dynamic path.
If I'm not mistaken, the stock posts only output an M00 and a comment that says "TOOL INSPECTION POINT - POST CUSTOMIZATION REQUIRED" or something similar.
You can still use J's method. Just draw a drive line 90 degrees from the line that you want to cut and use that to create your path.
I hope that made sense.
Sorry, when I mentioned hitting the "c" button I was implying that you have to click the edge to get the center point of the arc. I should have been more clear. My bad.
I created a test block when I was at work and created a b/s port looking feature. Did exactly as gcode suggested and was able to type in a diameter to be thread milled.
I'm wondering if there is a little confusion/miscommunication going on?
Looking at the error, and where it is erroring out, I can't help but think that it has something to do with the stock to leave - or the stock to leave message. This one is probably a better question for Colin. Looking at that error I doubt that is affecting the g-code being output.
I like the legacy project better anyway.
You should just be able to add them inside of your chain geometry.
Chain manager - re-chain all - select points, select pocket chains.
If Center on entry point is checked in the helix entry window, it should center over the points.
Out of curiosity, are you migrating from an older version or are you installing 2019 fresh and only working with that? If you open your \Users\Public\Documents\shared Mcam2019\CNC_MACHINES folder, what machine definition and control definition files do you see in that folder?
I don't think that the machine definitions and posts install automatically like they did pre 2017. You may have to contact your reseller and get the install file for them or they *might be on the install DVD. You may also be able to ask on the official mastercam forum.
Is it posting an M01 at all?
Look for this -
#Cantext string definitions (spaces must be padded here)
sm00 : "M00"
sm01 : "M01"
Make sure that sm01 has the "M01" between the quotes.
Then look for -
#region Tool change / stage tool
ptlchg$ #Tool change
see if you have this line and that it is not commented out
if prog_stop = 1, pbld, n$, *sm01, e$
LOL. oops.. I meant "switch".
I don't know which post you are using or where you want the M01 to output, but you may be able to turn it on with a flag.
prog_stop : 1 #Program stop at toolchange: 0=None, 1=M01, 2 = M00
