  1. Now if that had the ability to add cutter comp it would be almost perfect.
  2. A lot of us have moved over to https://mastercamforums.com Were not trying to take anything away from this forum . We're just trying to compensate for the lack of the offtopic area that was removed.
  3. There is something going on in 2019 that is causing the tool to feed down from who knows where. It does it even with the Clearance and retract turned completely off. I've pulled the file in to both 2021 and 2022 and the issue goes away without having to change anything. Rons solutions works in 2019. I should add, it also works (works better anyway) if you change the feed plane to associative and select the chained geometry.
  4. On his original file, in 2019, I switched everything and even removed the clearance all together. For some reason the tool wants to feed from some where in space. When I opened the file in 2021 it was fixed without having to modify anything. Edit: scratch that - the one thing that I didn't do is exactly what you said. Set the feed plane to absolute. This is 2021 without adjusting anything. If you remove the clearance all together, for some reason its feeding from outer space.
  5. I haven't tinkered with this much in 2019, but when I pull it in to 2021 it fixes the issue. I know that doesn't help you right now, but either something is wrong with the file, or something is bugged in 2019.
  6. I'm pretty sure that you can still watch it. Look through the video's on Colins youtube page. There is a link in his signature.
  7. Awesome. I saw that you'd posted the original text. I wasn't aware that you'd messaged him and had already posted the link.
  8. Hey Colin- Can we post a link to this over on the dark side for the people who may want to see this but don't frequent this forum anymore?
  9. I was thinking that - I just didn't want to say it.
  10. Do a search on the forum for "rest material mushroom effect". That will give you a better explanation than I can in a short amount of time (thanks Ron). You could probably split that up in to a few different 2d dynamic paths at different depths with air regions defined to get the efficiency you're looking for. Or wait for someone to come along to offer a better suggestion.
  11. I guess reviving a 10 year old thread isn't too out of hand. I've seen worse. It shows that the last time Ken visited the forum was 6 months ago. I'm not sure that he frequents the forum? You may want to start a new topic.
  12. It may be coincidence, but I've made that a habit.
  13. Have you tried updating the drivers?
  14. I work on a lot of assemblies or families of parts. Some files can have 10 parts with 5 operations each. It doesn't take long to see the benefit of viewsheets when you work like that. Pre view sheets you would have to wade through your levels and re-set views to go back to a specific part number or operation. Now they are book marked in viewsheets. It's a single click to reset everything back to that part and operation.
  15. I'm not seeing that behavior. What happens if you change the gview to something acceptable for that viewsheet and re-save the bookmark?
  16. Sure it can. If you don't mind the retracts.
  17. That has to be the best explanation of mastercam pocketing tool paths that I've ever seen.
  18. Cancer baby. I had a radiation plaque sewed in to the back of my eye about 5 years ago. The other is just old age. Your stuff is mostly so good. I have a hard time reading through it some times. My own fault..
  19. That is a little better. I am blind in one eye and the other doesn't have very good eye sight. Not sure how I still do this for a trade.
  20. You guys are going to have to start learning how to make your posts old man eye friendly .
  21. Not long ago we were running some 10X deep drills in Titanium and the through coolant pump decided to crap out in the middle of the cycle. For some reason it didn't alarm the machine out. lol. I don't suppose that I have to tell anyone how that ended.
  22. I've found that to be the best solution. You can see exactly where the tool is going and don't have to worry about that surprise gouge.
