  1. Anyone have a contact person for stand-alone version of NCI2APT. Is there other solutions available now to convert NCI to APT, was thinking perhaps ICAM might have this capability. Thanks
  2. One of my tasks at work is modeling aerospace parts, where the walls are defined by Mold Line data charts, so i am familiar with importing the .csv data as points. I manually have to create rows of splines using these points to create lofted surfaces. Question for Ernie, does Verisurf tools have capability of creating surfaces from points (cloud point?), or is this feature only available in full version of Vericut?
  3. Consider using Backplot, save geom., then window contour with cutter on c/l.
  4. Jaz. Take a look at these engraving tools at 2LINC...I modified one to do what you are looking to do. BTW..1700 holes sounds so familiar.
  5. I also have always ignored disclaimer that pops up about masterCam not suporting multiple instances.
  6. Is this what you needed? MASTERCAM SOLID FILLET PROBLEM-DP.MCX-5 MASTERCAM SOLID FILLET PROBLEM-DP.MCX-5
  7. I'm still in need of video card, browsing thru amazon I found fx3800 (list $1595) for $299. I know this is older gen, should I buy or wait till can afford k2000?
  8. Yesterday evening went out to Fry's and purchased the i7-3770k, asus sabertooth z77, 32 gigs of corsair, a small corsair ssd. Of course I went allready over my budget and will have to wait a month or 2 to get a quadro card. I can't wait to get this build going, and noted that the cpu comes with a built in gpu "hd4000". Curious if any have ran master cam using this integrated video?
  9. Also look under filter settings arcs on XY plane only. Though I've found some of the new highfeed toolpaths will ignore this and still output helical moves on occasion.
  10. Kendo, I am currently working on a hydraulic valve housing, using a rotary table mounted on a horizontal machine. I was getting same problem such as you describe, would position to B90. C$$$.00 to drill 1st hole then tombstone would rotate all the way around to B-90. C$$$.00 to drill adjacent hole. Just tinkering around with misc integers, I discovered that by adding a value of 999 to Initial primary and or initial secondary this forced tombstone to stay at B90. I dont quite understand how or why his worked for me, but why not play with those settings see if you get good results. Perhaps someone else could further explain the exact function of these misc integers.
  11. My preference is to use Verisurf hole axis chook and use points and lines.
  12. Without looking at file, as we do not have X6 here. Your selection of plane using 3 points might be the culprit for error in vectors.. are these points taken of a true circle normal to hole or of the face of part ..which would make that a spline you are selecting.
  13. The router post that I modified has a switch to enable or disable tool length. I will look for switch name 1st thing in morning.
  14. Mike, Show me how to do it and ill pour the drinks. I know just the place BTW
  15. Would it be possible to modify my Peck drilling, set to output in long code, to give me option on feedrates for retract and return? I would like something like this: G1 Z-4.0 F5. (DRILL FEED) G1 Z0. F50. (FAST FEED OUT) G1 Z-3.8 F25.(SLOWER FEED BACK IN HOLE) G1 Z-4.3 F5. (DRILL FEED) . Second part of my question, If this can be accomplished. Would this information be posted to the NCI file or only to final NC code? As I I am using third party posts.
  16. I do hope that Mastercam also considers polling customers that may not be on this forum, members of square or circle clubs..etc. To get their input on what tools they require.
  17. Ive ruined many previously excellent fadals.
  18. Ok now I'm curious how this makino would hold up against a Fadal!!
  19. Specv's numbers are right on . My choice is the Ingersoll also.
