  1. Lathe is stock aware. I don't know why it would effect previous ops but following ops for sure due to the stock awareness
  2. Should the Z value not have a decimal too?
  3. I ve been using stock models in each op a lot more lately because you can now verify ops as the stock progresses. No need to verify all previous ops.
  4. Under Cut Parameters - Steep / Shallow Set your Z min depth to -.001" - .002" below the top surface, that should take care of the top 'skim' pass
  5. I think you are basing your comments on the little knowledge and experience you have with Mastercam.
  6. You should give the dynamic toolpaths a go, they are more stock aware and utilizes that awareness to minimize air cut motion.
  7. ...yeah so my intention was not to do the work for him, but point out why he/she/it was getting the errors and collisions and as you stated ...not lead, guide.
  8. Go to Machine Definition General Machine Parameters Coolant commands
  9. I cant find anything in configuration, control or machine definition that would leave that option checked.
  10. What are you using to drive your tooling? Do you use the solid edge or create a turn profile and drive off wireframe? I generally leave the models alone and manipulate the wireframe once I have created a turn profile. An example of this would be threads. Generally they are drawn and dimensioned to the nominal. I then create wireframe that puts me at the mid point of the thread tolerance.
  11. Once you have created or selected a machine, click on Tool Settings(1) - Toolpath Configuration(2) - check 2nd option down, Warn of duplicate tool numbers(3)
  12. Look for a file called THREAD.TBL located in your shared mastercam file. In your documents (my documents) find Mastercam 20XX folder and open. In that folder should be shortcut at the bottom to Shared Mastercam 20xx. The THREAD.TBL should be in there. I don't know if that is included with the education package or not.
  13. Are you talking about the image quality at the top of the holes? In 2024: Click on any one of the 3 to get to Properties Then play with these tolerance settings, If you have big files with a lot happening, tightening these tolerances could have an effect on simulation speed.
  14. Without seeing a file of some sorts via Zip2Go, it would be very hard for people to 'guess' through the issues you are having. It does seem like you are having tool and work offset issues at the machine.
  15. Look for Turn Profile in the Wireframe tab
  16. I made a few changes to get closer to the end result. I don't have 2023 loaded so I cannot send it back. The tool geo for T0303 will have to change to something that has more clearance on the back angle, this is where all the collisions are coming from. Only when it gets closer to the drill point. I drove the drill deeper to remove more material. Changed Stock Recognition to Remaining Stock in op2 to stop the tool from starting past center Changed lead in for op2 to feed into cut As mentioned earlier, the tool geometry for op2 needs more clearance at the back Hope this gets you in the right direction.
  17. File - Configuration - Colors - Advanced Toolpath Display. Change Rapid retract motion (2nd one down) should do it.
  18. They are !!! ...I simply cant imagine why that would be... ...oh and the administration here strictly abides by CANADIAN rules / laws. This is , after all, a Canadian site run by Canadian company.
  19. ... and here I thought it was due to how feral the Americans got around election time... on a Canadian website...
  20. Adding link to previous thread to show response/s.
  21. You should just be able to grab the 'ball' at the origin of the gnomon and drag it to wherever you need. The edit plane also becomes dynamic so the plane angle can be modified too.
