I am in with both feet too and am willing to do work arounds.

But today we had to (hard) restart the computer about 20 times. Lost many hours.

We are going to reinstall X2 and play with X3 on the side. Work has to get done too.

Yeah and since all most all of our post are MPMASTER based I will just wait for the dust to settle a little more. Beside I have been so busy lately that no time to mess with problems.

Eric, try re-loading your machine def when this reoccurs.

 

That fixes a lock and crash I get in X2 Mr2.

Usually when opening the parameters of a tool path and it locks up or fatal exception error

I have someone following up on the feed issues you mentioned and will have to get back to you on this one.

 

Metric testing - Yes we have folks testing in metric as do our beta testers and resellers. Just because something doesn't work today, doesn't mean it wasn't tested and working at one point during our testing.

 

Mastercam is a huge application and we can't test everything, everyday, but we do try to and are always finding ways to improve our test coverage.

 

Language testing - As far as testing with our languages, we do very little testing here. We do have a few machines we use to do some quick tests in other languages, but nothing detailed or extensive. It's hard to find beta testers with other languages because they usually require the beta versions to be translated as well, and normally they are not. If there are folks who use other languages and would like to be beta testers, then they should contact their resellers and let them know.

As far as the file path bug in CD is concerned, what exact file paths are you trying to change to go to your "My Documents" folder? Could I have the exact path you are trying to enter, character for character as well?

Thanks for the suggestion Rick, but that freezes it up too. Just about everything I do in the ops mngr freezes my computer.

 

Uninstalling now and reinstalling X2 until I hear back from CNC.

decided to give X3 another chance and reinstalled it.

So far so good. May have been a file location error or something like that. Lets see how it goes. Last install started out good too.

One thing I really don't like...

 

I create and name a new level, then select geometry to move or copy, right click, OK, and the geometry goes to the level you used previously.

 

Not really a bug but a difference in the versions that is difficult to adjust to.

This is not the exception but the rule ant CNC Software. Didn't you know you are all just beta testers, that includes me. I've got a full time job and good honest money paid and continually paid for software in most case that is over prices, under developed, with a lot of emphasis put on marketing a product/features that are half baked and tend to stay.
