Its been one of those weeks, but all is well. Coming home I heard John Lennon singing "Imagine" Now Im all for brotherhood of man and all that stuff, but my head was still at work so Im thinking more like:

Imagine ...

-There's no Inspector.

-Customers working to the forecast.

-Fanuc and Hitachi manuals written in real english (or a bablefish translator for Japanglish).

-10 more horse power, 5000 more RPM and another inch of z travel.

anybody else ?

... all the Machine tool builders used the same pull stud/retention knob...

... A GUI Post builder from Mastercam...

... Bringing in the Solid History from ANY CAD system...

... A desk sized mold cavity with thousands of tiny surfaces with a .001" stepover processed in 2 seconds...

I could go on and on...

James,

I certainly agree with the last one....I could read several books whilst processing some of the cavities I've dealt with lately smile.gif

Oh, and Z travel isn't normally the problem with me...its x..:/

Hehe

Operators that check thier parts once in a while.

The same control on every machine.

Every part made out of aluminum with no inside corners smaller than 1/4" radius, no tapped holes smaller than 1/4-20, and every hole goes thru.

No surface finish better than 125. I could go on forever. cheers.gif

Amen to that!

- Mills and lathes from the same builder using the same control; or at least something that acts like it was made by the same company

- Not moving button / switch locations from one generation control to the next for no apparent reason

- Operators that understand that a rapid move with a 2" Distance To Go right in front of the part is BAD

- Running everything at 1500SFM

- $10 carbide endmills

it does, indeed, go on forever

they could use they other half for war funding.

The US Govt is going to INCREASE it's defense budget by MORE than the combined total of ALL THREE of the next highest countries. The TOTAL budget will be MORE than ALL OTHER COUNTRIES combined. (That's like 91 countries..)

Kind of sad when you consider many of us make our living off of war products... frown.gif

You must be a politician cause your math is definately f*$*ed up. If there's 600 million to divide amongst 300 million people thats 2 bucks each. rolleyes.gif
