X7 MU2 SP1 upgrade available today

I fired up X7 this morning and got an upgrade notice.

MU2 SP1..

Fixes some stl file and custom lathe tool isssues

Loaded the update and X7 will not open now.

Sandybar, did you receive any messages or errors when trying to open after the update? Did you reboot after the update finished installing? Any errors or messages during the install of the update?

 

You can also send us your update log which can be found here: C:\Users\your user id\AppData\Local\Temp\Mastercam X7\Mastercam X7Update.log Yop can also check for an install log here: C:\Users\you user id\AppData\Local\Temp\ It would be in the form of MSIxxxxx.LOG where the X's are replaced with a number combination. You can sort by modified date to find them.

 

Send them up to [email protected] and we will see if there is anything in there that helps.

I did find that if I'm not set to "Run as Administrator" I get an error gafbase missing and Mastercam won't start. Set back to "Run as Administrator" and all is well. What's up with that?

If I already have Mastercam X7 MU2. Do I only need to install the patch update? Kind of confusing when reading the info beside the downloads.

does it fix any of the show stopping toolpath import issues from other .mcx-7 files?

 

I have to create all my paths from scratch now i a cant import anything from other x7 files with out a

blank tool list when i go to edit the tool paths

 

i started a thread on it but no one from CNC chimed in.

 

In-house has witnessed it all via desktop remote a few times, i sure hope they sent in the issues.

What is the build number? It would be nice if it showed MU2 SP1 in the title bar, or about dialog.

I noticed that too Mick, then I looked at the build date and it said Monday, June 16, 2014 and figured it was the new version.

Could you send a screenshot of the 1402 error message to [email protected] with ATTN: Chris and has this error message always appeared when installing through the X7 releases or only when updating to Mu2 Sp1?

Did you try the Help dropdown menu (in X7)and click update mastercam?
