This is awesome news. We use both religiously and if Harvey can apply their business practices to Helical, it's a major win for both Harvey and us lowly machinists.

Ditto that. When I need something that we don't keep I look at Harvey first even if it's just looking for ideas. Harvey makes hands down the best key seat cutters.

 

I don't get to run helical much because of the material/size of our parts but I like them. Didn't they pioneer the variable helix?

That's good news for all of us. Hopefully Harvey can bring more exposure to the Helical brand. Harvey and Helical are my go-to brands and the only catalogs I carry with me at all times.

I don't know if it's true, but I was told that Harvey doesn't actually build anything.. they just buy other peoples products and distribute them

 

Having said that, I recently had to do .100R max fillets in a 1.5" deep pocket in titatium

I bought some  extended length endmills from Harvey that worked very well.

I expected them to snap off on contact, but they did the job quite well

SGS pioneered the variable helix end mills but the patent ended fiveish years ago.
