  1. I started with MC2019 I took the boxed setup sheet, mill2 I think and modified it to fit our needs. We are up to rev6 now. We are a small shop, mostly short run and one offs. So far, MC has had the best setup sheet I've worked with. With operators now being setup guys too, (Another discussion entirely) more and more detail is needed. What you have looks like was generated from Active reports in part. Looks detailed. Failing to have attention to detail in this industry is well, failure. There are as many ways to go about things as there are machinists. Getting the policy set and following it I think would be at least as important as the details.
  2. I worked for that guy for about 6 working days. Turns out it was about 7 days too long.
  3. How long to learn? I could ask the definition of learn. LOL You could learn to hack around and make parts fairly quickly but to really "know" the software, it will take some time. I do better in a small class with an instructor for learning. I just have a hard time with videos learning. Everyone learns a little differently.
  4. Wow, I may not be the oldest around here.....when I was a 10 year manual guy we got a computer and a CNC I learned how to run a computer and software at the same time with Gibbs on a Mac. Still have an old Mac that works and it;s very powerful up to 2-1/2 axis work. simple and fast.
  5. THIS COMMENT FIELD SEEMS TO BE 256 MAX Thanks for the info!
  6. There was a thread about how having people work from home during lockup caused a deterioration of work quality. Elon IMNSHO is right on when he says people need to be "in person". Failures on so many levels in those 2 years of our history will be written about for decades.
  7. Can we just start now to call it the Covid version?
  8. Looks good to me. I use flowline quite a bit. It has a drawback of direction selection not always working well.
  9. I try to not always buck against change for it's own sake but keep an open mind or use that grain of salt. Hard to do but I have had years of practice. My tongue is so full of scar tissue it's a wonder I don't lisp. I have tried really hard to NOT use tip comp for this reason. I think it IS an improvement to have this info all in the same place. It is also wise to give weight to those that are using the software and just trying to get the job done. CNC is in my experience the best and most responsive to doing this. Thanks! That said, both windows side by side, MC2024 is smaller when at minimum. The first thing I usually try to do is drag the window bigger so I can see what part or piece follows. I.E. the list field in the tool page. I am not sold on the "we didn't have room" theory.
  10. iN THE STICKY ABOVE https://www.emastercam.com/forums/topic/82717-protip-how-to-set-control-definition-defaults/
  11. You could just use active reports?? I have had good success with it.
  12. How do you model the runout in the head of the screw?? :sarcasm: seriously though, Flathead screws vary so much it tough to say what the head height really is going to be. The book sizes I have seen vary almost as much as the actual screws do.
  13. This came up in the past. I just change the text to the space key if I do not want to see it.
  14. Just got in on Chrome long enough to post! Then a 400 error....
  15. I would prefer that they just FIX it. Improve it later.
  16. I imagine you could use a threadmill cycle and use the feed in to do the drilling part. Should not be that complicated to program.
  17. I just did this on a steel manifold with a .630 deep x 1.00 wide undercut 7" deep. I used circle mill with start and stop on center turned on because the tool was .008-,012 smaller than my pilot hole 2.490. Worked awesome.
  18. I have one of those!!! No image needed......
  19. I played around with it and I see that editing the config makes a direct change. I see the "windows standard" ctrl roll zoom works also. I did not see changing the font size in the documents setting page make any effect. Good to finally find out about the windows zoom. It overrides ant setting in code expert. Regardless of the settings, newer monitors have very fine settings which are not good for my old eyes.......
  20. Dredging up a decade old thread................................ Is this still not addressed?? Every time I do a new install, I run in to this.
  21. Solids are feature based so you can go back and edit a hole/feature. Until you delete history, it is in the dropdown on the solids manager.
  22. Seeeerch NEWB!! I saw this was logged as "D-47248 was created for this issue. " on the other site. Springpass only happens at final depth regardless of which radio button is checked. I never watched backplot long enough to see that happen Doh. Still, I wanted the springpass at each level so contour it is...
  23. SEMI finish just adds passes to the rough. No overlap. I made a contour to get the job done but, thought I had used this before with spring pass. Maybe I never noticed?
