  1. i like what Randy said a FEW people here always like to put the Hate on the Haas we have a sl-10 lathe without the bar feeded we have a bar puller works great makes us money $$$ we have 4 vf-4 with our own custom pallet systems we have mini mills , we have tool room mills and toolroom lathes and the md-500 all run great and RARLY do we have problums ..We have deep pockets $$$$ because we went with haas over 10 years ago and grew this company 10 fold because we did ....methods ..machinest ,machines ...oh yea all machines paid in full up front ...
  2. dradracer1951 ive heard nothing but crap about that lathe for so long if its that big a problum WHY DIDNT YOU SEND IT BACK ???????i guess just a really poor decision on your part
  3. you sure it wasnt that haas machine that caused that to happen ????
  4. i agree with the above statements it all depends on the work your doing ...but we have a shop full of haas machines we are happy with them there has been very few problums and almost every thing we fixed ourselfs with parts the very next day...mazaks are a higher end machine BUT dont listen too much to the HATERS about haas theres a reson there BOOMING its because they do build a great machine at a good price we cut 304 /316 ss all day and aluminum and plastics too we hold .0005 and with high speed look ahead they remoove pleanty of material very fast ...Methods, Machinest,Machine thats what puts parts out the door seen plenty of high end machines not properly programed setup or run no matter what machine you have its not just the machine its the whole package
  5. welcome to the forum also lots of knowledgable people here always willing to help
  6. if your already using SW i would stick with that its much better at modeling them mastercam ,why because thats what it was meant to do macam is more machining driven i use its design ability to help me along for my machining
  7. one thing i tell the guys here with plastics is to take at least .05 of a cut no little skim cuts also stone the corners on the tool or use tooling with a .01 corner radius no sharp corners
  8. we cut alot of plastics here usally they mean marks from the bottom of the cutters on the floor of a pocket or step down you might have to polish there, but ive never seen a problum from a fine finish side milled on a abs part around a countor of the part from the side of a sharp cutter
  9. jarret????? his info helped me out thanks
  10. a little to far north for me but ill pass it along to some people i know ...welcome to the forum
  11. john has seen the light .....the bottom of a 12 pack of cans of light beer
  12. i think the way HAAS continues to get better they will also begin to make motorcycles too ,maybe the fastest one on earth
  13. how about a mill drill then you could come to the top of the hole and use the tools 90 degree tip to chamfer mill the top of the hole
  14. Haas has a setting that lets you overide the safty door switch WHAT dosnt those high end machines have this????
  15. how many haas bashers drive mercedes benz or bmw to work or are most of you driving chevy or fords ???the haas are your chevys thats all great machines for the money $$$ just like mastercam isnt the mori of the cam world either .
  16. we have 8 haas mills and 2 lathes, good machines for the money $$$we did have some accuracy issues with the sl-10 lathe in the begining but was corrected under warrnty .The other machines no real issues the service in our area is great and there simple to work on your self .like others have said there no Mori but they not junk either good bang for the buck, but high feed look ahead is a must .We cut 316 /304 stainless steel all day long and aluminum and plastics its also nicely tied into there rotary products.Weve looked at other more pricy$$$ machines in the past but still continue to go back to the Haas for ease of use and good price for the work we do +-.001
