  1. Nope, Didn't fix it. I changed common parameters to a clearance of 20" and the same for retract. Seems like everything created in that first release of 2021 is Hosed up
  2. Earlier in the year I was having issues with Verify refusing to work At All, even after direct help from IHS. Long story, I finished up some programming just relying on backplot (not a big deal). Fast forward 5 months and with a new computer ( Quadro, i7 , plenty of Ram) and everything has been running Great, almost no complaints. I now have an order for 3 more of these assemblies that I need to machine. Open the file and verify is working (somewhat). The tools/holders are crashing right through my part between planes, when in real life they aren't. Anyone think of why this is happening? If I create a "dummy" file with similar toolpaths I'm not having this problem...
  3. Would normally go straight to HSS, but not if this material is abrasive... Dead sharp inserts specifically designed for aluminum is probably your best bet
  4. All my facemills are defined as bullmills. Just easier this way, no biggie
  5. MC 2021 I've exported my named levels to say the desktop. When I open a file and want to Import Named Levels, I do just that but nothing happens?? The do not show up in the level manager. I've opened the .CSV file and my levels are there. what could this be? Sorry, I'm an idiot, Got it now
  6. Ron, Just wanted to say that is seriously impressive. I have no idea how you keep track of HundredS of paths to complete a part, that kinda blows my mind. My most complicated parts may have 100 different toolpaths. Just wanted to give you a tip of the hat for all your knowledge you share here.
  7. If you have a file to share, I can help you out when I get to work tomorrow. There's Lots of different ways to control that path including extending surfaces, direction, start point, and lead-in / lead-out arcs.
  8. If your counterbore geo is on the same plane, just use the 2D helix bore path. Make sure you have Linerize helix's unchecked
  9. Stock model, or select solid in the stock set-up area
  10. That looks like one of the earlier models of the UMC. They were pretty slow for sure, the newer ones do move a Lot more efficiently.
  11. https://www.gom.com/metrology-systems/atos.html You haven't used these then I guess. They are pretty incredible, also an incredible price tag
  12. ± .0001 bore? Sounds like that will be hard to control with a boring bar in Ti.
  13. So there is no original model that they use to make the casting from? There is no print from which to make the model to? This seems like we're missing something?
  14. The basic machine Def and post is included with MC that'll be fine for programming a 3 axis Haas
  15. I did everything CNC recommended, and Verify works maybe 40% of the time. Just hopeful that 2021 update 2 will fix this.
  16. One-click perfection! Thanks JP
  17. The larger arc is 25" and the smaller arc is 23". I want to Unroll this to be able to cut it out of sheet metal, but unroll doesn't seem to work with different arc diameters. When this section is flattened, it should be a shallow "u" I'm assuming. Gotta make two of these that will weld together as a "ring"
  18. The last few relatively complex 3 axis parts, I have done entirely with backplot.
  19. I get it almost every time I use MC. But just in 2021 tho.
  20. What about Creo? We've recently received models that were saved out as a .Step from being created in Creo. Do I need to ask the customer to check their tolerances before saving out as a .Step? I've had some issues almost the same as beej
  21. What Haas mill doesn't have a toolchanger and uses a different make of controller???
  22. The stock standard MPmaster mill post always places a safety line after toolchange
  23. What the best way to alter or change my stl files to MM ? Do I just go back to the top level MC file with the whole machine and change to metric?
  24. MC 2021 I've used mastercam for quite a long time, but have never utilized machine sim. Soooo I get on youtube to watch a few vids of building a machine, and all looked pretty straight forward. I downloaded my machine solid file from Haas. I split everything up like what I saw in the Cam Instructor vid, simplifying everything. I saved out the Z axis, X axis, and Y axis all in the correct orientation and world coordinates as split up .STL files. When I proceeded to select my machine it's blank in dropdown list. The other machines in the list have .XML files and a few other formats, so I see why I can't select it. What am I missing? Sorry for the dumb questions and thanks!
  25. Control Definition, NC output, then Mill. This will control what (to some point) what your post outputs in the comments. Anything more involved, will require a post modification.
