Hi,
Anyone knows what needs to be added to MD/CD to be able to select stock manipulation toolpaths? They are greyed with a simple 2 axis XZ lathe machine.
I often fight with that kind of stuff too...
For retraction, you can play with tolerances but it won't be perfect.
However, about useless upper 'spring pass' when you turn off the upper z depth, i guess toolpath is trying to machine surface sharp corner with tool radius. You can avoid it here with rest stock parameter 'Ignore small cusps' with value = tool corner radius value.
Optirest with a stock model can be a better way however it won't be perfectly optimized. Lead-in will be optimized lead-out too but not as much as it could (tool will come out from material entirely before retracting).
If you mean to change colour operations icons in operation manager. I think it doesn't exist.
I recently read this idea on the forum but someone from CNC answered it couldn't be done with a Chook.
I just meant this command should be internally developed by cncSoftware and built-in Mastercam:
- Ability to display all entities associated to selected toolpaths in one-click. Wherever entities have been drawn on and whatever level manager settings are
I created this netHook with 2017 but it's still working with 2018/19/20. I didn't try it on X9 but it may work...
You're welcome!
I still daily use it. Unfortunately it's limited to legacy chain based toolpaths... as nethook sdk is.
I guess a similar command should be natively built in Mastercam for any toolpaths.
I have no access to Mastercam today to make screenshots but I asked for this to my reseller who told me this feature was available in MT only. In lathe mode, jaws will always spin for lathe or mill toolpaths (as before). Unfortunately, buy MT+posts is not an option for now.
I just went to french Vericut VUE and I heard that Vericut is not really written in Java but mainly in C. Java would be used for GUI.
I could looked at V9 deeper and graphical improvements are outstanding (sections, appearances, transparency, same quality in machine view and part view, ability to dynamically change view during animation,... ). A cgtech engineer told it's now OpenGL 4.5 vs OpenGL 1 in V8.
Should be released at the end of the year. I can't wait^^
Standard way is to set all levels visible then use toggle button in toolpath manager to only show geometry associated to toolpath selected.
Then select geometry and analyze it to get its level number.
I'm ok it can be time consuming that's why I made a NetHook to help at this task (for 2D toolpaths only). Look in my signature.
Logged defects can take forever to get fixed. Here this is not really a defect but an enhancement request then it will be low (low) priority... So don't hold your breath
To slighly decrease toolpath weight, let Mastercam linearize your toolpath, then use Arc3D Chook (because this CHook lets untouched existing arcs)

I probably have this setup starting 2017 release. I even didn't remember where it came from^^
It's crazy actually trying to make new releases look like old ones... however there are good reasons!
Ron's idea is great and it could be even more efficient if CNC let us customize icons for ribbon custom group.
For example, standard wireframe point ribbon tab in QAT
may be developped to a ribbon custom group (to save 1 click). However with a generic icon in QAT makes it not really usable...
Hi,
i changed some parameters in your 2D HSM toolpath to show you how it works:
- removed solid face from 'avoidance regions' (associated this solid face in linking parameters to drive tool tip)
- added a containment region chain
