After the roughing, first a semi finish!
Then the finish, i got the best results with the Blend toolpath
The Blend takes a long calculation time, but if you want the best...
And Always climb ++++
code:
How about just starting in design and then picking what ever one you want to use?
I would be happy if Mastercam switched back to DESIGN every time i open a new file!!
Enhancement Request??
Andrew,
You Can !!
Surface Contour on the 'Finish Contour Parameters' tab:
- Choose: Broken
- Disable: Entry/exit line/arc
- Enable: Spiral limit and set it <= to the stepdown
- eventually enable the Helix for an entry

I have X2 MR2 installed, as well as X2 MR1 SP1. Me too, and also 9.1 MR0105.
A second instance of X2 MR1 SP1 comes up with "Mastercam X is alraedy Running, Continue?" , after the 'Yes' the second X2 MR1 SP1 comes up, No problems!
X2 MR2 as second after MR1 comes up without any question.
Second X2 MR2 comes up with the same quest like the second X2 MR1 SP1.

An other thing is the size of the window.
When i startup Mcam, i have to drag it to a comfortable size. That size stay till the end of the session. After each restart i have to drag it again!

Is there any way with that cycle to get it to make a helix to full depth without the cleanup pass and return to center at each helix depth? I don't think so.
Go to heidenhain.com and download the "TNC-guide"

Reading about it however in the manual, it looks as if it makes a helix, a cleanup pass, returns to center, and repeats the process until it gets to depth. Is that correct? That's it !!
as said I've added that cycle to my drill toolpaths, the only bad is that verify dos'nt put in the right diameter of the holes.
Hi Fredrik,
I would not recommend the changes you want.
The IPA is limited to +/-5400, if you need more then you also have to breakup.
When you have to mill a lot of holes you can use: Cycle 208 (Bore milling), i've added that cycle to my drill cycles im mcam.

How does it compare to the MC generic-heidenhain post? The mpmaster post? mpmaster is for iso.
Go conversational !! : Inhouse has a great mpmaster_TNC post, ask your dealer to contact them.

Very slow...about as bad as a scallopI agree, but the result is MUCH better !!!
I hope they put the blend also in the Surface High Speed Toolpaths

James I put two machines in op manager and created paths in first group. Then I transformed them (0,0,0 to 0,0,0)and moved the transformed ops to the second mach group and it worked.
And if your 1st machine has 26000rpm and the 2nd 18000 ??
The MMD limits the rpm but don't force down the feed !!

1. I exported my tool library to a text file.
2. I imported that same text file to a new tool library.
That's the way i made all my tool library's.
Only between step 1 and 2 i make the changes i want, like feeds and speeds in the text file, and save the text file with the new name.
No problems like you discribed

Is that controlled by the .dat file then? Yes it is.
an other thing for X (for V9 not tested):
Save your files as "char065.MCX" and not as "A.MCX", then you can use Upper and Lower-case
char065.MCX is for ascii 0065=A
char097.MCX is fof ascii 0097=a
Have fun !!

I can draw the geometry but how do I save it as a font?
Yes you can !
Create an .MCX file for each character, make an LETTERS.dat and put them together in C:McamX2commonfontsMyfont
Look how it's done in : C:McamX2commonfontsBox
