I didnt read all, so sorry if this is a repost. On other forum I visit, they have the option to delete a post made by yourself (only) or even your thread...again, provided you are the creater of said post/thead. We had the ability to delete our threads/posts years ago. It was taken away when some people started abusing it and the half hour edit limit was put in place. I prefer it the way it is now.
If you want to make a change to the operation defaults, you have to open mastercam without a file open. Then, inside the control definition you will be able to change the operation defaults.
I'm sure there are different ways to do this. This is just the way I do it.

An employee came to the owner and said “I would like to receive profit sharing”, the owner replied “Sure, But just realize that when you participate in the profit sharing program you are also required to participate in the loss sharing program” What do you think happened? I would be alllll over that. Cause I'm certain I make more good stuff than I scrap and I know I've made my boss lots of money. Ill take that option
It would be really cool if mastercam could handle the independent axis feed rates for rapids. You could add another feed for rapids and mastercam could calculate clearance moves in the toolpaths!
I can dream can't I??
I almost always use geometry for my new views and it only uses what I select. It has never created a point for me, sounds bizarre to me.
If you want to delete the point, go into your WCS view manager and select that view. In the bottom right corner you will see a "Associative" check box. Uncheck it and you should be able to delete the points. Keep in mind if you ever decide to move that origin by translating the geometry used, you have lost associativity so the origin won't move with the geometry.
If you create a flat boundary surface over the lettering at the proper depth, (depth of your pocket) you use that flat boundary surface as a DRIVE surface. That way, when it gets to the point of machining that area instead dipping down into the lettering it will see the flat boundary surface first and not violate it. No need to set it as a check surface.
Another note: Create > Surface > Fill Holes... is your friend! use it
That would depend a lot on what your tool and machine is capable of. We use a lot of mitsubishi tools here and in their catalog, they give you info like max ramp angle, smallest bore diameter, etc...
That's odd because since X3 that hasn't worked for me. X2 was the last release I could shift-select ops whether the group was open or not.
I've just been opening and closing my groups with the right-click option of expand or collapse since X3.
The whole stock to use interface is just a complete pita. The repicking solids, stl's or whatever for the stock setup drives me crazy. Now with x4 when I use a solid or stl for stock definition, the border of the stock will "ghost" on the screen while it generates a toolpath. And yes it's been that way for so long it isn't you
